  • These work!
Color: Black 1089 X2 Replacement Filter
Bought the Naples black pitcher with included filters a few months back. The original filters included were a nightmare of constant clogs. I tapped them, squeezed them, beat them mercilessly. Repeatedly, multiple times a day. No kidding, they clogged before I could get a full fill. After a couple weeks of use, they would last a wee bit longer and longer until at the 60-day mark, they finally worked without the repeated abuse. I did reach out to the company and never heard a word back. Because they finally started working, I extended use to 90 days. They did bring my very low ph RO water of around 4.5-5.0 to off the charts past 10 alkalinity. My ph tester only goes from 2-10 and we were probably at an 11 or 12 judging by deep purple color. Maybe even 13–which I don’t deem necessary. Even after 90 days. To give you some perspective, I previously had Santevia filters that only brought my water up to 7.0 at best. By end of 60 days on those it was closer to 6–not even neutral! I almost didn’t purchase these replacement filters due to the first ones requiring constant abuse to work. But after reading they have been “improved” decided to chance it and glad I did! The new filters feel less full—no doubt. But they work after soaking and my ph is now 9-9.5. I am happy with that, given we start at 4.5-5. Due to our water situation, I would be happy with anything 8 or higher. So yes, these work better than the originals as far as water coming through. Yes, it is at the expense of losing a little alkalinity over the originals, but what is the point if they do not let the water come through and couldn’t be easily used? I drink more alkaline water now because it’s easy. Hopefully, they continue to alkalize for the promised 60 days. We have to use an RO filter because our well water, while being very pure otherwise, is a bit salty and very hard—just below the brackish threshold. The RO filter does a beautiful job of getting that out—along with all the good minerals. But it takes our water from 7.0 down to 4.5. Hence, the need to bring the ph up. Wanted the health benefits of alkaline water and also needed to raise the ph for cooking beans and rice because they literally will not cook in the acidic water. I will continue to check my ph periodically and if they decline too much I will update my reviews. Giving them 5 stars because these raise the ph more than anything else I have tried and the newer filters work well. ... show more

  • Hit or miss product, Beware
Color: Black 109 Alkaline
Positive: 1. The price/volume of this pitcher is great. Have a 1 liter brita pitcher that between morning coffee, gym water bottle, and daily home use will have to be refilled a minimum of half a dozen times and the process is slow. Being double the size for this price was very appealing and the overall look and design seemed more pleasant compared to my Brita. 2. Taste is fantastic. Most people seem to have verified in the reviews already that it does what it is advertised as doing, I didn't do any tests and honestly to me, water is water, at best I can tell you if it tastes bad. It does however not seem to hinder the flavor of the water in any capacity, tastes great, no issues there. 3. Filters process the water much faster than my brita pitcher filters. Not having to wait as long when filling it was something I imagined was going to be a great boon. Putting on the filter is easy as well, very simple screw mechanism. Negative: 1. Filter stops working when pitcher is just over halfway full which nullifies the both 1 and 3 of my positive points. I have taken the filter and squeezed its sides, tapped it a bit, as suggested in the instructions and removed and recrewed the filter back in but after multiple tries the pitcher will fill to just over half then will not allow any more water to come through. 2. Because of the above issue, if you try to fill it to even 3/4 capacity, it creates a huge issue when pouring the pitcher as the water in the reserve will come pouring out when trying to pour due to not being filtered into the main pitcher. 3. The way it is designed with the three separating pieces, if you fill the reserve area up too much it will leak really bad. Some reviews said they have tried sealing this part but I simply just fill it a little over halfway then wait and do the same again which seems to work fine but disappointing none the less. I wanted to give a lower rating but there are a ton of people of have legitimately been able to make it work or had no problems what so ever. I will try a couple more filters and see if things change before lowering my rating but currently I think it is pretty fair at 3 stars for what I ended up with. I would not recommend this product based on my personal experience but I do acknowledge that based on the reviews I might be in the minority and just got a product that slipped through there quality assurance department so best of luck if you want to try it out. ... show more

  • Good flavor and high alkaline Ph
Color: Black 109 Alkaline
I had tried another brand of alkaline filter and had to return it. After about the third pitcher of water, the taste was very strongly like iodine, so bad I had to return it. This alkaline water filter is wonderful so far, about six days into using it. The water taste very good. They suggest shaking and pressing on the sides of the filter to allow the water to flow through more easily. I needed to do this and afterward the water has flowed just fine. I'm very pleased! ... show more
