I got this about two months ago, it’s a good purchase so far. It gives great grip, I have a matte screen protector on my iPad so I usually take off the cover from the tip, but prior to getting the screen protector it was amazing on the bare screen and helped with slips. I can’t even use my pencil bare anymore because of how amazing it feels with the skin. The skin slips in and out seamlessly, it might be tricky at first but it’s easy just follow the instructions. It charges with the skin/case on. Bad side: depending on your case you might not be able to charge your pencil with the skin and case on it (typically my pencil skin goes off cause it’s easier), I have the zugu case so if you have that take note. Because of how frequently I take off the pencil skin/case it has a cut, personally I don’t care cause it’s hidden by the clip thing behind the pen and it makes it easier to take in and out the pencil.

This is good for anyone who prefers to use the official Apple Pencil but wants something larger to grip onto compared to using the Pencil alone, which is quite a bit skinnier. This will also allow you to keep the stylus protected if you use it away from home and protecting it is a concern. The grip cover fits on the Apple Pencil very snugly, you have to install in a very specific way so that the wireless charging portion of the Apple Pencil is oriented in just the right way. It also has a clip to let you place it in your front pocket or attached to your iPad case. If you have one of the sleeves that is designed to hold the Apple Pencil, make sure it’s very stretchy because this case made my Apple Pencil not fit the holster I have on the back of my iPad case. This is because of how much larger the stylus becomes when using this Elago grip.

Had to return this item after I test drove it at work. It wouldn’t snap onto the side of the iPad once this case was on the pencil (no case on iPad). And it just added excess bulk to the pencil. Awesome concept just not for me! I’m sure experience varies per person!

I've been using the 1st and the 2nd generation Apple pencils, depending on which iPad I'm using at the time. Going from the 1st gen, the 2nd gen pencil has always felt a bit too thin. Moreover, while sitting -and charging- at the top of the iPad Pro, the pencil stuck out too much being the only white object on a completely black iPad and its magic keyboard. This elago case solves both of these issues! At first, it looked too thick, but after writing with it for about 5 minutes, it feels more natural this way. Plus, the pencil is protected including the tip. The magnetic surface of the case increases the stability of the pencil on the iPad while it's charging. The biggest selling point of this is of course the clip. Not only it makes it easy to attach it anywhere, it also stops it from rolling on a desk. Highly recommended if you're in the market for an Apple pencil case.
