  • Excellent
Size: 2.2 Inch (Sinking 2.4)
Very pleased with this, it works beautifully. Dropped my chair down far enough that my feet could be flat on the floor. Definitely recommend for short people. It was easy to install, and it came well packed. It is worth the price.

  • Shorties Keep Your Chairs!
Size: 2.2 Inch (Sinking 2.4)
Short girls keep your office chairs! This lowered my chair to the perfect height. I'm 5'2" and was dreading needing to return my new desk chair until this came across my feed. It was difficult to get the old pump out but this puppy luckily fit perfectly to replace the one my chair originally came with. Save the hassle of searching for a short leg friendly chair and use this to replace the standard height pump. It costs less than a replacement chair and works as listed. I'm very happy with this purchase! ... show more

  • 5* despite not liking it details below
I needed a replacement cylinder for my older chair but was having a hard time even removing it. First off the tool worked lovely and was infinitely easier then whatever I was doing. My only real complaint is the replacement cylinder it comes with is REALLY high. Like if I put it all the way up I have to actually jump to get on my chair. If I put it all the way down my chair still doesn't fit under my desk. So now I have a working cylinder put I have to sit an extra foot away from my desk, I guess you can't have it all. It was easy to install (and uninstall my old one) 5* there, if you need a cylinder this high it's probably a 5* for you there also. As far as comfort goes I have to rate it a 1* for ME PERSONALLY because I'm gonna have to replace this cylinder it's WAY TOO HIGH. If you're looking for something that goes high though this is the cylinder for you. The tool is also pretty priceless lol ... show more

  • Fixed my height problem, but now I have a wobble problem.
Size: 2.2 Inch (Sinking 2.4)
Bought this for my Staples Joel chair, and I'm finally able to sit at the correct height with the chair all the way down (I'm 5' 5"). However, like a lot of other people have said, the chair is pretty wobbly. You can lean in any direction and feel the chair slightly silt, which is honestly kind of annoying, especially coming from a chair that had zero tilting problems. I'm still more thankful that I fixed my height problem, but I will be looking elsewhere for a similarly sized piston that may be made better. ... show more

  • Perfectly fits ALL SECRET LAB DESK CHAIRS
Size: 2.2 Inch (Sinking 2.4)
This shorter lift cylinder perfectly replaced the standard lift cylinder in my Titan XL chair from SecretLab, the gaming chair manufacturers that sell overpriced computer chairs. Seriously, these chairs are basically the Alienware of gaming chairs. They're nice and all, but they fall apart easily just like all the other ones, but you're paying for a name brand now 'cause they spent so much on advertising. Anyway, the lift cylinder replacement was pretty each, provided you have a heavy rubber mallet and a vice. I tipped my chair over, smacked on the chair portion a few times and popped it off the lift cylinder, then set the base in the my vice (upside down) and smacked the cylinder out of the base. Installing the new lift cylinder is just dropping it into the base, then setting the chair frame back on it. Note: the cylinder cover that comes with the chair will prevent the shorter cylinder from seating properly into the chair receiver, so I just tossed it in the garbage. I wrote to Secret Lab and tried to get the exact dimensions of the cylinder to ensure that I was ordering the correct one, but Lance was being all evasive and refused to answer the question. He will let you know that you might void your warranty if you modify the chair at all (good up to 5 years). I didn't mind, though 'cause my chair is over 5 years old and modern products are designed to fail in some way about two minutes after the warranty expires anyway. I upgraded the wheels on this chair, too, so it slides nice and smooth now. You can pay SecretLab $50 to send you in a couple weesk the same set you can get on Amazon for $30 in two days. That's an option, but not right now 'cause it's out of stock, but Amazon still has like ten thousand in stock from like fifteen different vendors. So, if you got gifted a SecretLab chair like I did and ended up having a frustrating experience with their customer service, you're in luck: you can upgrade it with standard office chair parts 'cause as unique as they advertise they are, they just use the same cheap garbage everyone else uses. ... show more

  • Installation will be difficult, seems to work well once installed
Removal of the old cylinder can be done with some lubricant, a hammer, and a pair of channel locks or a pipe wrench. The way I found success was by applying a generous amount of multi purpose silicone based lubricating oil to both sides of the outer cylinder where it seats in the wheel base, as well as where the inner cylinder connects to the actual seat base, and letting that sit for a day with a few paper towels underneath to catch any drips. WD-40 would probably work too, I used silicone based lubricant so it wouldn't damage any plastics though. After it sat for a day or two I held the chair upside down by the wheel base and gave it a few good hard hits right in the center of the bottom of the cylinder with a 2 lb. hammer, and it came free. To separate the inner cylinder from the rest of the chair I placed it upside down on the ground and knocked it side to side a few times with the same hammer, then grabbed the inner cylinder and gave it a twist with the channel locks, which did the trick for that. Remember that channel locks and pipe wrenches only 'grab' going one direction, so if it's slipping go the other way. Do yourself a favor and plug your ears with something. Seriously. New cylinder was a drop in replacement, and so far is working well. Hope this helps someone out there. ... show more

  • Will no longer hold pressure within 4 months
Size: 2.2 Inch (Sinking 2.4)
I ordered this Gas Lift Cylinder less than 4 months ago for a brand-new chair. This Gas Cylinder that I received will no longer hold pressure in a locked position, and the chair continues to sink down. This one is defective, but the return window is no longer open. It did not last very long before going bad. I only weigh 150 lbs, so my weight did not break cause the issue! ... show more
