9 year old got up and easily took this out the box followed a waffle recipe and made us breakfast. It’s perfect as a dessert maker and made the waffle thin. All are done so no photos of the actual waffle. 9 year old said it was too small. Grownup had to hold down the top to ensure it cooked. Maybe if it was less batter inside it wouldn’t need holding down. Looks like it will be easy clean up when I do it in a few mins. According to my kiddo it cooked in a timely manner and I can see that it cooked perfectly, no burns and didn’t smell anyway funny.

It's smaller than I thought, but it's good size for one piece of waffle, works well and the instructions are clear. The cook time it's perfect, I'm use a plastic spoon to not scratch the surface.

Being a 60 year old Norwegian,I have waffles like these in my blood and have been making them for the past 55 years, using my greandmothers recipe. I was over the moon when I found this "iron" and could now make waffles here in Florida. Unfortunately the "iron" proved a huge disappointment and giant waste of a Sunday morning. Out of the box it has a very cheap plastic look and feel to it, there is no weight or substance and hinges feel slarky and loose. Once it heats up, the entire contraption gets burning hot, something I have not had from any quality Norwegian irons before, you should not need to use an ovenglove or a cloth to lift the lid, the lid handle should certainly not heat up like this. As to the internal plates....the waffles....well...one side (the bottom) will cook to a crisp, the top side on the other hand remains pale and the waffle itself remains uncooked through the middle. I tried every temperature option using the slider but to no avail, what I was left with was not fit for consumption. Being as the was bought in July and I myself was away until this week, it is to late to return it and it now sits on top of the trashcan out in the yard until it cools down enough to go in it. Very very disappointed and no I would absolutely NOT recommend this.

I love scandinavian thin waffles, but it's pretty difficult to find scandinavian waffle irons in the US. This waffle iron definitely cooks the waffles all the way through, but it is having a difficult time browning the outside of the waffles on the highest setting. A lot of heat escapes through the upper housing, which might explain why the waffles are not coming out crispy. There is a ton of steam released, and the handle gets really hot. I have to use oven mitts to open the waffle iron while there's a waffle cooking. I also wish it could make two at a time instead of just one to be able to make the waffles in less time. Overall, it's functional but has quite a bit of room to improve.
