  • Great little ignitor
Works like a champ! I would have preferred to give 4.5 stars but it doesn't allow for that. The only reason I would take .5 away is it comes with a small lanyard hole but no lanyard. Why offer it if you do not include it. Remove the hole or add a lanyard. Other than that one small nit pick of it, its 5 stars! ... show more

  • Good quality
This thing is amazing and I'm sure will last a long time. Interested to see just how long.

  • Does not work with MSR Windburner - at least for me
I disagree with this statement - "Works with most canister stoves except the Reactor.". I have MSR Windburner, and the ignitor does not work with it.

  • Great product but requires some getting used to
I used one of these on my gas stove for about 2 years, and I loved the convenience of not having to worry about matches, especially since I lived in a humid tropical environment that easily turned matches to pulp, particularly when it rained. Be aware that you will have to do some experimenting to figure out the right formula for getting it to light on as few strikes as possible. I found that if I turned on the gas and then counted to three that usually gave the stove time to build up enough gas that the igniter could do its job in one or two strikes. I also had to find the sweet spot Where the gas exited the burner in the greatest abundance. Fortunately, on my little upright stove, letting the gas run before I struck the igniter did not cause a large flash of fire. However, on my friends stove, if I counted to more than three, the flame definitely puffed out a bit, but never to the extent that I worried that I would get burned or start a fire. To me, the nuisance having to figure out the right formula for this device was well worth the hassle. ... show more

  • Great for Jetboil backpacking stove
I purchased this to use with my JetBoil backpacking stove on a recent hike on the Appalachian trail. Since I was using air travel I could not bring my usual cheap butane lighter and decided to give this a try. The biggest trick that I had to learn was that I had to ensure that I held the ignitor vertically so that the gas would rise into the opening where the spark will ignite the gas. It worked successfully each time I used it though it did sometimes take several clicks. My biggest complaint it the loop for a lanyard on the side was too small and it took some time to locate a strong but small cord that I could loop through it and hang around my neck when I wasn't using or storing the ignitor. It's small and would be very easy to misplace especially in the woods. ... show more

  • Works great!
It works perfectly when you figure out how it works. When trying it out I couldn't get it to work. After playing with it for a minute or so I placed the end to the camp stove and it worked right away. The lighter works by creating an arch on to the burner, lighting the stove.

  • Thank goodness I brought matches
When it's 35 degrees out and you're dying for a bowl of warm instant oatmeal to get you started on the day's hike and the freaking stove won't light because the d*mn piezo thing won't spark the priming fuel. That's the infuriating situation brought on by this useless spring-loaded bit of junk. It worked one time in 3 on my last trip. The other two I busted out the matches and got going. Next time I stop at Walgreens for a lighter. ... show more

  • Igniter is light, compact, and works first try
I have used this igniter a dozen or so times so far. It has ignited the propane from two of my stoves on first try every time I have used it. It has a hole on the side in the plastic where a wrist strap can be attached. Unfortunately, mine did not come with a wrist strap. For the price, I think it should have which is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. Other than that, it is exactly what I expected and performs as it should. I would recommend this to anyone needing an ultralight piezo igniter as long as you aren't needing a wrist strap with it. ... show more
