Enjoy cooking breakfast, lunch, or dinner on this reliable stove that packs up easily for any adventure. About Coleman More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark. In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company's current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won't deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.

  • Exactly what a 2 burner propane camp stove is supposed to be.
For starters, YES this is the basic starter model propane camp stove. Keeping with the KISS principle, this stove offers all the performance you could want, plenty of cooking area, and simple, reliable operation. I bought this stove to replace a rather unreliable 2 burner propane stove with piezo igniters. Take my word for it, keep your camp stove as simple as possible. The last thing you want is to not be able to get your stove working on a week long camping trip. There are some obvious changes that have been made over the years of the production of the classic propane stove, mostly cosmetic. I do like that this particular variant has a buckle style latch instead of a simple friction catch as I have seen those friction catches fail, a lot over the years. The burners are Coleman's standard 10,000 BTU units, for a total of 20,000 BTU capacity.. They are well made, super easy to control and produce a LOT of heat. I was able to bring a quart of water from 50 degrees F to a boil in 3 minutes. Simmer control unlike many camp stoves, is fairly straight forward and easy to manage. There are a LOT of competitors to this, and many don't even come close to the heat output, or simmer control of this stove! Cook top surface is ample with enough room for 2 good size pans. Coleman claims a 12" and 10" can coexist on the stove at the same time. While not mine, but the same model, I have used in the past to cook spaghetti and meat sauce dinner in camp for a large group. (Using the TexSport family cook set). It was no problem at all. Both pots fit easily, and we fed 8 people off of this one little stove without having to juggle anything! The finish is very nice on this, better than the competitors, and the embossed Coleman Name in the lid is a nice touch. It's an old school enameled green paint, that is very durable, and honestly, quite attractive at least to my eye... The wind guards are painfully simple, but very effective, and superior in many ways to competing designs. The side flaps are adjustable to allow for more, or less air in to the burner, and space for larger pots / pans. The wind guards, and lid fold back completely out of the way in case you have some insanely large pot you need to put on the stove. So they have you covered... My only complaint with this stove, and it is universal for ALL 2 burner propane stoves is the rigid regulator line. Good I guess if you are only going to use the disposable cylinders, but lousy if you are hooking up to a 20LB tank, or have to use your stove on a narrow surface like a Coleman Pack Away camp kitchen. This is universal to all 2 burner propane stoves so I really shouldn't fuss much... Anyway, hanging the fuel bottle off in the air, or a heavy propane hose without support can bend the fuel line, and potentially cause leaks. So always make sure your fuel line or bottle are supported! Overall, and I don't think I am overstating this. I am nearly 50 years old at this time, and I fully expect this stove will outlast me, and likely be handed down in my estate. It's just that well made. If you are a beginning camper, this is the perfect stove for you, if you are an experienced camper that wants the simplicity of operation of propane, without the reliability problems of the fancier models, this is the stove for you. ... show more

  • Convient, easy, and safe (safer than liquid fuel stoves).!
Nice propane fueled stove. Arrived on time without damage. Bought it for emergencies. Had a serious wind storm here in the Puget Sound area last Saturday. Power was out for about a day (yes, know that isn't really a long time, have gone through several days long outages in the past). However, by the time I got off work that day, got (fought) , my way home I was too tired/beat to get out the Coleman Peak 1 white gas stove, pump/prime it, and cook dinner (cold SPAM sandwiches weren't bad). Decided I wanted something easier and safer to use, so, after a bit of 'net research, including Amazon reviews, bought this one. It is great. Easy to set up and use. Boils enough water for coffee (~12 oz) in a couple of minutes. Two burners is nice, allows flexibility when cooking for the End Times. Recommend getting a piezo electric 'sparker' to use instead of matches. Bought the stove for emergencies, but it is so easy and flexible to use I think it will make a good stove for general (outdoor) use. Also, I consider propane (using the 16.4 oz canisters at this time) safer than the white gas that the Peak 1 single burner stove uses. The 16.4 oz propane cylinders are easier to attach, store, and replace than white gas, and propane cylinders are more widely available than white gas.The propane cylinders are self sealing, and so it is easy to store the stove and fuel separately (stove indoors, after it cools, fuel in the garage). Very difficult to empty a white gas (liquid fuel) stove. ... show more

  • Must have in areas with electric heat/cooking and freqent blackouts. Must have in areas with electric heat/cooking and freqent blackouts.
I bought this after a big blizzard hit northeast PA leaving me without power for close to six days without electric in the dead of winter. I have electric heat and an electric stove/oven. Needless to say, not a good situation, especially that for two days the roads were blocked by downed trees. All I had to cook with with a BBQ without the side burner, making my cooking options limited at best. Once electric, internet, and cellular service were restored in my area, I immediately ordered this. Setting it up was very easy. I also got the matching Coleman 5-Ft. High-Pressure Propane Hose and Adaptor for this, as I read the reviews and many people stated that the Amazon recommended Char-broil brand propane hose is NOT compatible with this. I hooked this to a 20-lb propane tank, which turning/screwing it in COUNTER-CLOCKWISE into the opening of the 20-lb tank. It quickly attached, and the rest of this went together quickly. Operation: It was a little windy and the temps outside were 32 degrees according to the thermometer on my deck. I boiled a small pot of water in 8 minutes. Works very good and burns so clean that you will have a hard time seeing the flame when the sun is out. Shutdown was easy. I let it cool and I packed it up. What is nice is that valve and the accessory Coleman 5-Ft. High-Pressure Propane Hose and Adaptor fit inside the grill and you can lock then up inside it so no worries about losing anything. There is a little handle on it to carry it. I recommend it. Nice to have around in case of a lengthy blackout. ... show more

  • Great camp stove
This product is great. We took in on a road trip, where we cooked on it probably 10 or so nights out of the 16 that we were on the road. It was great to be able to pull into a campsite and be able to be cooking supper within minutes. No messing with getting a fire started, or smelling like smoke when showers might not be available. It puts out a lot of heat and brought water to a boil very quickly. It also uses surprisingly little propane. I bought 4 bottles for our trip, and ended up not even emptying the first one, even though a couple of nights I was running it for 15-20 minutes to boil soup or noodles. The construction of this device is solid, and it's got a nice enamel paint that's easy to clean splatter off of. The grate also comes off very easily, but is secure when in use. I was able to keep ours spotless with just wipedowns with baby wipes after each use. The one negative is that it's very hard to regulate the output of this stove. There is a very narrow range of the knob between full blast and off. There were a couple of times I tried to bring something down from a boil to a simmer and it ended up shutting off on me altogether. Once you use it a few times you start to get the hang of it, though. I was really glad to have bought this for our trip. ... show more

  • Great camlong stove
I love Coleman's stove. This stove replaced my old Coleman duel liquid fuel stove which lasted for 7 years. I barely cleaned it and was sturdy. I took this recently to a 3 day camping trip and it perform well. It boiled the water faster than other friends stove and it cooked pretty well. I can adjust the flame. I haven't tried the two stoves together because I was cooking the food very fast with one of the stove which didn't give me time to cook with the two stoves. Very durable and easy to clean. The complain I have with this stove is that I wish they have a secure place to store the fuel adapter to the stove. It slides around during storage and transport that I need to wrap the adapter in a paper towel to prevent that. Also I can see that everyone is complaining about the fuel adapter breaking. It seems like it can break if I over screw the adapter or repetition in assembling the fuel adapter to the stove. That portion seems easily to break. It haven't break on me yet. ... show more

  • worked exactly as i needed it to
used on a week trip through the PNW and found this little ticket to be quite a significant confidence booster after long days of travel, hiking, ziplining, etc. There is nothing like a hot meal after a long day. The Coleman cooker worked superbly. I do recommend this product as part of your gear; as part of this purchase do acquire a lighter that is has the extended neck. Made lighting this thing a breeze. Previous reviews stated that this thing only cooks hot and really, really hot, and though this may be true in a sense the ability to adjust flame size is there. Its not rocket science to know how to adjust down a burner after lighting it. Mallow me makes an awesome mess kit that we paired with this cooker. Both items made for a great kit to use each time we overland. Lastly the price on this thing was just right, sportsmans warehouse had it for much more expensive. Consider this as a great option for your outdoor gear. ... show more
