  • Lives up to the name- still the best you can get for the price, and reliable!
Needed to replace my Coleman stove and this is still the best bang for your buck. One thing to know if you're a previous Coleman stove owner that they fail to tell you for some odd reasons- the black knob on the regulator on more recent year models (my other one was less than ten years old!) does NOt turn- not is it supposed to. I rmailed, called Coleman and neither time did they tell me this but promised to send a working one (which I never got).. I went to the store and bought three replacements and each didn't turn and I even messed with all they had in stock through the packaging but none turned. Long and short of it is they changed the design, made no indication in their directions the knob that even if you didn't have a stove before looks like a knob that should turn doesn't (it even instructs you on what detection is open) and it doesn't turn!! Super annoyed that I went through all that for two months before a trip when someone from the company should have told me that, the guide could have said that, or the thing is just completely ilunnecessarily masquerading as a functioning knob. However as with other colemans I've had- the heat burns hard and strong, it's made more solid than other brands at a fraction of the price for the quality. Plus, as a 46 year old camper I just think a Coleman stove and a Coleman lantern are sentimental nostalgic camping essentials that are still reliable. And how can anyone get a stove that doesn't have those side flap things that block the wind?! This is a great stove, and anyone who complains must either not be used to profaned stoves, or used to something that's hundreds of dollars more that I'm completely unaware of being somehow superior to this staple! ... show more

  • Great stove. Excellent pricing on Prime
Great stove. Excellent pricing on Prime. Don't bother looking for the old model, you will be sent the new one- this one. Don't worry about this one being inferior to the old one. It's not. The burners do run hot, but gently turn them and get used to them. Simmering works, it will just simmer fast. We love the size or footprint, also that the griddle (despite the price) fits perfectly and we also have the cover for it. That fits perfectly too. Used one fuel canister over 3 days, not bad. Attaching the fuel line or stem on the stove and fuel can is not an issue, just be careful, don't wrench it. If you want a good, simple and well priced (offered by Amazon/Prime) you can't go wrong. If you are looking for the older ones "that you grew up with" as far a build quality- good luck, keep your memories because any brand and model today is not the same. This is a good stove and excellent value. Happy camping. ... show more

  • EDITED - FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE STOVE
I've owned many Coleman stoves, mostly liquid fuels, and they've all worked wonderfully until I just wore each one out. This is my first propane Coleman. I find it a little harder to "feather" the flame than the liquid types, but WAY easier to operate and less messy. I find this configuration of the case and grate much sturdier. Extremely good product - much as I've come to expect from Coleman. EDIT, EDIT: I feel compelled to edit my initial Review, thanks to one Jeff Weissman who published a YouTube video describing how to correct the "ON OR NOTHING" issue of this pretty good product. I encourage all who feel they can't reasonably "feather" (read - adjust) this stove to a low enough output to simmer, sautee, keep warm, etc., meals. I'll not raise my evaluation to more than 4 stars because of other inherent detractors, but this is still a very dependable propane stove, and the improvements displayed by Mr. Weissman may well solve the adjustment problem. ... show more

  • Camping is so much easier! Camping is so much easier!
I've always cooked over a fire on our camping trips - fun but a little tedious and time intensive. Finally caved in and bought this Triton stove...SO glad I did! It's lightweight, packs up & sets up easily, cleaning is as simple as wiping down, and it cooks well/quickly. Some reviewers mention issues with controlling the flame but I found it to be very adjustable for lower flame although you do need to get eye level with the burner to gauge it. The burner knobs don't work like your stove at home where you can use markings to get the same level flame (knobs also point differently to get same flame across right and left burners). But that's a minor inconvenience to have a stove that heats water so quickly and is so convenient to use overall. I got the model without the ignition button and don't regret it at all - not really worth painting extra 20 bucks for a button that's likely to break when you can just use a long lighter (which we always bring with us camping anyway). Definitely worth every penny and would recommend! ... show more

  • Great for camping or catering
This thing is great!! I use it when camping and don't feel like setting up a fire each time I want to cook. Super easy and quick setup. Wish I got the one with the igniter (didn't even know that was an option). Very easy to control the temperature. I've cooked on this with cast irons and large pots. I highly recommend. Also great for chefs as I have a catering business where I sometimes need a cooking station. Much easier to have than the standard single burners since this is nice and compact but can accommodate 2 12" pans with ease ... show more

  • Easy to Use, Multiple Features Easy to Use, Multiple Features
Excellent purchase. I highly recommend. Great to have two burners going simultaneously. Has side panels to reduce wind interference when lighting. The propane canister attaches very easily. Easy to transport, especially in the Coleman "carry bag."
