When we added a covered deck to our house we made sure to build in a natural gas outlet so that we could run a heater. This greatly extends deck season, and lets us work outside in the morning and have outdoor drinks after dinner. The manufacturer was clear that the radiant version is better for drafty areas, and it's clear that this was the right choice for an outdoor location that gets some wind. The heater was simple to install once I determined the parts I needed. Our gas outlet has quick-connect plugs with male plugs included so in my case all I needed was: * A GASPRO 24' 3/8" hose kit (so that I can move the heater around my deck) * A Litorange elbow adapter with 3/8" Male (heater side) and 3/8" Flare (hose side) ends Both came with PFTE tape, so you don't need that. Using tape, I screwed the Male end of the elbow joint into the heater, and the Flare end to the hose, and plugged the other end of the hose into the gas outlet. I had to wait several minutes for the gas to make its way through the long hose, but when it finally got there and the pilot lit easily. It is unfortunate that you can't adjust the actual heat level, instead the built-in thermostat cycles the heat on and off to keep an average heat level. This means you tend to alternate between a little too hot and a little too cold, but it isn't that big a deal. I also got the blower. It's small and a little too loud for my wife's tastes, but I use it when I'm by myself. I think it helps moderate the too hot/too cold problem a bit by keeping the air circulating more. Because the pilot lights very quickly I tend to turn it all the way off when not using, so as not to waste gas on the pilot. It's been a week and there have been absolutely no problems. I do anticipate that keeping it outside (covered, next to a wall) will shorten its lifespan to some degree, but it still seems like a bargain. Highly recommended. ... show more

Amazing gas wall heater. My entire 850 sq feet home is warm and cozy now. It got delivered same day I got a quote on new furnace and that would’ve been $15,000 that I can’t afford but this heater is amazing kept me and my pets warm this winter Love that it has a thermostat and shuts off when room temp reaches a certain degrees It was 10 degrees outside and 70 inside Definitely does the job! :) ... show more

I bought this heater last year but barely got in set up in my home. I got it set up myself it was very easy I did put it up on a cinder block and paving stone on top. I used the feet it came with and it was close to the floor making the gas hose touching the floor. I would recommend this heater to anyone wanting a warm home. ... show more

The heaters do have a light smell of the gases being burnt but not being vented to the outside. I like many before me installed extra added Carbon monoxide alarms to keep my home safe if something failed on the heater itself.. Installation was easy enough and I too suggest to only use quality BLACK gas line Pipe, NEVER use Galvanised pipe as it's illegal and unsafe! I also bought/used quality flexible natural gas line hose to make the install easier and give the heater movability. My heater had a broken manual electronic ignition ignitor but it's easy to light with a lighter when need which is never this far.. I use a small house to move the heated air around it works great. Th heater raised the temperature in my basement by 14 degrees at the lowest, #1 setting which for me was a huge need/deal. At 1 1/2 on the dial the basement is now warm enough to take showers and do other things I couldn't before do in the cold in winter months. Should have bought one years ago... ... show more

Excellent performance on natural gas, currently the most cost-effective heating option in California (for a limited time). Electric space heaters can drain your finances with PG&E charging a whopping 43 cents per kWh, the highest in the nation! This gas heater pays for itself in less than 3 months. Don't forget to grab the Mr. Heater install kit – it has all the necessary connections for a flawless setup. While the fan didn't make the cut due to Sacramento's stringent regulations, I plan to smuggle one in over Christmas, much like the elusive toilet I'm bringing in. Avoid the annoyance of Amazon's "Item Not Available for Your Shipping Address" warning – count yourself lucky if you haven't encountered it. The heater is a definite win. Highly recommend. Stand up for what matters – consider running for local government office, especially if there's no opposition to the incumbent. We live in North Dakota with some of the Coldest weather conditions. Good Heat is not just nice, it’s necessary and a matter of life and death. The day our Mr. Heater’s arrived our temperatures in ND were minus 39 degrees! These heaters are great, I mean Great! We had opened our living room to the front mud porch and even with R-38 insulation it would get really cold inside during negative temperatures outdoors.
