When we added a covered deck to our house we made sure to build in a natural gas outlet so that we could run a heater. This greatly extends deck season, and lets us work outside in the morning and have outdoor drinks after dinner. The manufacturer was clear that the radiant version is better for drafty areas, and it's clear that this was the right choice for an outdoor location that gets some wind. The heater was simple to install once I determined the parts I needed. Our gas outlet has quick-connect plugs with male plugs included so in my case all I needed was: * A GASPRO 24' 3/8" hose kit (so that I can move the heater around my deck) * A Litorange elbow adapter with 3/8" Male (heater side) and 3/8" Flare (hose side) ends Both came with PFTE tape, so you don't need that. Using tape, I screwed the Male end of the elbow joint into the heater, and the Flare end to the hose, and plugged the other end of the hose into the gas outlet. I had to wait several minutes for the gas to make its way through the long hose, but when it finally got there and the pilot lit easily. It is unfortunate that you can't adjust the actual heat level, instead the built-in thermostat cycles the heat on and off to keep an average heat level. This means you tend to alternate between a little too hot and a little too cold, but it isn't that big a deal. I also got the blower. It's small and a little too loud for my wife's tastes, but I use it when I'm by myself. I think it helps moderate the too hot/too cold problem a bit by keeping the air circulating more. Because the pilot lights very quickly I tend to turn it all the way off when not using, so as not to waste gas on the pilot. It's been a week and there have been absolutely no problems. I do anticipate that keeping it outside (covered, next to a wall) will shorten its lifespan to some degree, but it still seems like a bargain. Highly recommended. ... show more

This is a great heater for my 550sq ft mobile home. I'm no longer freezing in winter. Automatic and turns on and off perfectly as it should from the thermostat in the dial control. Heats throughout my home. It's awesome. And cost efficient as well. My gas bill is reasonable and I use it constantly. Even my dog loves it. She gives it a paws up. Had this for a few years now and it works great. Installed on basement to boost the heat during the winter. Only negative is it takes long sometimes to get the pilot lighted. Be patient it will eventuanly light after like 30 -60 seconds. I have the fan ad on which I love.

The perfect answer for cold Michigan nights! This unit replaced an old procom blue flame. These heaters will burn very efficiently with hardly any smell if you have a quality fuel. Having said that when we see yellow tipped flames on our gas stove, we know that DTE is not providing us with a pure fuel. Yes I am aware of the other combustible fumes in the air ,cleaners ,solvents,humidifiers and such that may disturb a flame. When you have a clean pure gas source there is hardly any oder at all. Installation of this was super quick because I already had the right fuel connections and even the bracket for the back was exactly the same. About 15 minutes I had it up and running. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. We only ran it briefly but I can tell this will do the job nicely. Even will work during power outage which is sweet! Highly recommended ... show more

We live in North Dakota with some of the Coldest weather conditions. Good Heat is not just nice, it’s necessary and a matter of life and death. The day our Mr. Heater’s arrived our temperatures in ND were minus 39 degrees! These heaters are great, I mean Great! We had opened our living room to the front mud porch and even with R-38 insulation it would get really cold inside during negative temperatures outdoors.
