Updated after one month of use: I am still amazed at how well this mowrater works on the steep hills of my property. It goes through tall grass with no problems. Very impressive! I’ve only used the Mowrator once so far, but my first impression is really good. I was honestly a little skeptical at first and wondered whether this would feel more like a toy than a serious mower, but that was not the case at all. It feels sturdy, well built, and much more substantial than I expected. It was easy to get going right out of the box. The only thing I had to do was put the tires on, and those came separately but were simple enough to install. The RC controller is also very easy to use and responds in real time with no noticeable lag. I used it for my first mow of the season, so the grass was taller than I would have liked, and it still did a good job. I did have to go over a few spots more than once, and I needed to clear out the mower chute area because the taller grass built up in there, but that didn’t surprise me given how tall the grass was. I bought the 100% slope tires, and they seem great for hilly areas. For regular turf, they may honestly be a little overkill because they can tear up the grass when turning, although some of that could definitely be user error while I’m still learning. Where I think this machine really shines is on hills, around fences, and in awkward places where it’s unsafe to use a push mower or garden tractor. I also think it’s especially great for mowing in and around trees and bushes where you would normally get smacked in the face by a branch, because everyone who has mowed around trees knows exactly what that’s like. One thing that was a little frustrating at first was the safety sensor. I started using it right out of the box, and I couldn’t get it through my gate because it kept sensing the gate as an obstacle. Thankfully, the getting started instructions were easy to follow and made it very simple to turn that feature off. Once I did that, I was able to mow close to the fence and use it on hills with no problem. I was also worried it would move extremely slowly, but that wasn’t the case at all. It actually moved faster than I could comfortably walk behind it, and I wasn’t even using the highest speed. It also handled bumps and uneven ground much better than I expected. I live on a farm, and my ground is definitely not level, but it handled rough spots really well. Battery life also seems very good so far. I was out for about an hour getting used to the controls, going up and down hills, and mowing, and I only used about 40% of the battery. Based on that, I’d guess you could probably get around 2 to 2.5 hours on a charge. It comes with a fast charger too, although I’d probably just leave it on overnight between uses. My biggest hesitation was the price, and honestly that is what took me so long to finally buy it. It is definitely not a small purchase, and I did a lot of research before deciding. I even called the local repair shop and agree with their impression that it turns a chore into a fun activity. Who thought mowing the lawn could be fun?! My hope is that with enough use over time, especially on hills and in hard-to-reach areas, it will absolutely justify the cost and save my back from aching. I can’t speak to long-term reliability yet since I’ve only used it once, but based on my first use, I’m very impressed and excited to use it more this season. I’ll update this review later if anything changes with more use.

It's great build machine. The mower is very heavy and seams very durable. I would give 5 stars in almost all aspects except the control assist. There are 4 control modes which would fulfill the needs for right handed and left handed person. You can choose to operate on single stick or two stick. The software is designed so the mower makes the turn set for next pass which is great but the weight of the mower and turning algorithms simply destroys the grass. Part of my yard is very steep (37° slope) so I bought the mower with wide tires for exta grip and that deserves 5 stars but grip is so strong it rips the grass with the roots leaving track marks of tire patterns. I had to replace them for the regular tires before I actually start mowing the grass and they working decently well. The mower slides a little on the hill but it can be compensated by control. The control assistant is in my opinion the problem of destroying the grass. I noticed when making the turn one side speed a bit to much and it seam it's not proportional to the position of control stick on the remote. I do understand that the mower has to make turn and one side has to go faster then other and it's programmed to make the turn on the spot for the next pass but something is odd. The turning is VERY RAPID even with trying of gentle control. It would be great if Mowrator add one more control mode: FULLY MANUAL CONTROL LIKE BOBCAT MACHINE. PLEASE ADD MANUAL MODE. Left stick for the left wheels of mower and right stick for right wheels responding to the sticks movement exactly without any assistance. That would make the mowing going easier on the grass and even more fun. The wide tires coast $500 extra and can't use them. At the moment 5 stars for everything except the software assistance, so because of that OVERALL 4 STARS not 5

This mower is incredible. The people at Mowrator don't mess around. This thing is a beast. When it arrived, it was well packaged and easy to assemble. I took it out immediately and had it chew up all the leaves that naturally collect at one hard-to-get-to place in my yard. About eight inches of leaves had accumulated there. Now they're gone; I had the Mowrator move them to my compost heap. Next, it tackled a section near our creek — an area down a steep slope with lots of brush, weeds, and wild grass next to the creek. I usually have to push a gas-powered mower down there. Being in my early 60s, this can be exhausting work. The Mowrator performed perfectly, and the area now looks beautiful. The next day I had the Mowrator clean out an elevated area next to the creek. This is a heavily sloped area with angles at times of 40%. I've been cleaning out this area, removing the brush and trees in order to create a kind of nature trail/path kind of thing. With the brush and trees removed, the Mowrator's job was to go in there and tame everything else. It did a terrific job. There are a few fiddly places where I'll need to use my weedwacker to get those pesky weeds that are tucked right up against path-logs and rock outcrops, but the Mowrator tamed the area, allowing me to easily add the finishing touches. I'm incredibly pleased with this product. The battery life is excellent. I was in touch with the Mowrator people to ask one question I had and they responded quickly and efficiently. Excellent customer service. I also have the Auto Dumping Grass/Leaf Bag -- I highly recommend purchasing that extra feature. I can't say enough good things about this rc mower. Very good mower, well built. Works best with slope tires if on slopes. Less lawn damage and faster mow with up and back cuts, no turning. Mows 2hrs with mid settings.
