I went to the store and I bought the best. Butane. fluid. I could find charged it up, it lit. A couple of times no problem. So went to use it. It did not have no fluid in it at all. And I had just filled it up, filled it up again. It lit for a few seconds and would not lite Maybe I just have a defective lighter. I think that is cracked somewhere. Too much trouble to return it. I guess I will just bounce it off the ground and sweep it in a dust PAN. ... show more

    • Perfect size/shape/function
I use this for portable heat-shrinking, soldering, browning (cooking), all sorts of general torch uses. But primarily it is one of my 'go-bag' items. Perfect size - not too big, but not a toy. Seems like pretty rugged construction. safety/lock is a bit flimsy, and I wish it had a window to see butane level, but it holds enough you can tell by weight how full it is. ... show more

it works only at the lowest setting, if you try to turn it up slightly it will stay lit for a couple of seconds and then shut off

    • A gimmicky, slightly dangerous mistake of a purchase
It all started when my other torch finally gave out, I had a regular butane torch lighter. The flint went out and it stopped giving me spark after a long service of heavy utilization. I should have just researched on a way of fixing it, but instead I set out to buy a new one. Not wanting to bore myself by buying the same lighter, this one catches my eye. I am a gun person but that wasn't my motivation. My motivation was ergonomics. For one, that's a silly reason to buy a lighter, but it does okay in that regard. In general? This is a stupid product. Not only is it made by careless and irresponsible manufacturers that design things like this without adding an orange tip, but it feels like cheap junk. The lock? Wow didn't even think about it until I was asked during the review. Went to go try it out and much to my horror this _locks the torch ON_ instead of locking it OFF. This is quite ironic given the fact that gun safeties that this no doubt is emulating in visual appearance do the opposite, and so do most torch locks.. You know, for safety. (points at the previous paragraph). I made a mistake buying this garbage, it feels like a kids toy and make me feel like an adult child. Just get a regular, quality butane torch lighter (ones labeled for food etc). ... show more

    • Intense flame
The flame on this little lighter is intense and the length of throw much larger than any other compact torch I have tried. I use this torch to ignite the wood in my wood stove and it makes the job easier. It is easy to fill. I only wish this lighter had a larger reservoir of butane.
