I don't normally write reviews for products, but was compelled to write about the Monument Grill because I am so pleased. Firstly in response to many of the reviewers; some complained about the assembly and I was prepared for a lengthy exercise, but including unpacking the parts, I was done in 50 minutes. The carton and packaging are surprisingly excellent, and I believe it would take some real abuse to render any sort of damage enroute. Also for those who are wondering, most of the firebox is preassembled and it is mainly the pedestal/propane compartment that is flat shipped. The directions were excellent and I was particularly impressed by the precision/accuracy of all the parts, there was no bending or manhandling to get things to align. Everything fits and works as it should. The stainless comprises the doors, firebox cover, and side shelves. It seems to be well fabricated and flawless brushed finish. The sides and bottom of the compartment are painted grey but seem to be a high quality finish. Some complained that the wheels are plastic, but I love that they won't corrode and have easy to operate parking brake. The fire box itself is heat resistant coating like the inside of your oven, so easy to clean. The window and thermometer are a great idea. I like the fact that there are 3 separate grates inside, so if you cook on only one area, you only need to clean the one grate, leaving the others behind, just more convenient really. the drip tray is fully stainless steel and easy to remove and cleans up very easily. I have used the grill for a few weeks now and find the heat controls very accurate, easy to maintain a temperature without annoying hot spots. I live in the caribbean with high humidity and salty corrosive air, and bought a cheap cover from Amazon, and is essential to keeping the rust stains at bay, and very pleased so far. It is not a 3 thousand dollar grill and doesn't pretend to be, but in my opinion a great value compared to some other grilles I have seen and used. Some complained that the Monument badge is mounted crooked on the lid, and mine is no exception, and maybe there is a reason for it, but I could care less, the grille works flawlessly, has many great features and looks snappy as well. ... show more

    • Lots of parts, but doable and seems like a quality grill

The packaging is solid and the instructions are pretty good / clear. I'm not a super mechanically inclined person, but I didn't feel intimidated by the process of putting it together. One thing to know though is that a couple of parts are pretty difficult to screw together because of very tight spaces...a right angle screw driver / impact driver attachment may be a good thing to have. But, it can be done without one. It went together on the first try for me, without any peoblems...gas and automatic lighter work fine. We'll see about durability and longevity as the months pass. I have had this grill about 3 months. It took some time to assemble and the instructions were easy to follow. it is very lightweight, it is sturdy and it seems like if I keep it covered, it should last a while. It gets hot and stays hot. I don't right reviews but I have not been this impressed in a long time. the packaging was the first clue. solid very well thought through. The instructions clear, fit and finish and materials are outstanding. All the controls work as advertized. love the led control lights. the cooking surface does not stick and heat control is perfect, heat deflectors are thick stainless steel , NOT tin. Style: Silver with Cooking Grids
First, a heads-up. SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED - putting this grill together is a project for a weekend rather than an evening. That having been said, look at the assembly instructions (lots of well-drawn pictures and arrows), make sure you have everything (put your hands on every part, open every box so you know where everything is), then take your time and you'll be fine. ALSO, wear gloves as some of the edges are sharp enough to draw blood. Finally, have a helper - once you get the pieces out of the box, nothing is overly heavy but the firebox and lid unit IS very large and awkward for a single person to move around and get aligned during assembly. Now, on to the review. Packaging was both sturdy and well thought out - nothing arrived damaged. Instructions were front and center rather than at the bottom of the box - considerate.. Material fit and finish is flawless. Parts are square, the instructions are clear, everything is identifiable (or labelled) and the grill is very well designed. Parts are legit heavy gauge stainless steel. The only niggling detail I wish were different is the 'cooking grids'. I ordered them expecting stainless steel, heavy duty grill grates that would resist the heating and cooling cycles they will go through. What I got admittedly is sturdier than the default but not up to expectations - porcelain-coated cast metal of some sort that I expect will degrade and break down, but that remains to be seen, maybe it will be fine. Now, a short story - I thought the drip tray, which was upside down in the shipping package, was a box so I didn't look under it. That's where the blister pack of screws and assembly hardware was. Needless tos ay, customer support is very friendly, efficient, and helpful. And that is why I am truly impressed, with the grill and the manufacturer, and easily rate them 5 stars. ... show more
