I've tried lots of different kinds of tent stakes from the dinky "L" stakes that come with tents, to some big steel nails with a glow-in-the-dark plastic cord retainer, to oversized screws that you put in with a drill (they actually work pretty well, but you do have to have a power tool to put them in). These are kind of the best all-around heavy duty tent stakes. They are nice and long, thick enough not to bend if you are pounding them into hard dirt, and they have a welded cord retainer so your rope can't easily slip off in a gusty wind. I had been keeping my tent stakes in a small bag, and hauling around a normal hammer, but saw this and thought it looked like a great idea. The hammer is really well thought out. A normal "small" hammer has a small head that is a bit annoying to try and use to pound in a stake and a big hammer really isn't needed when pounding in tent stakes and it just takes up more room and adds weight. This hammer has a lightweight aluminum handle with a fairly lightweight steel head, but the head has an oversized impact face so that it's easier to use with stakes. The canvas bag works great for keeping everything all retained so that it's not just banging around when you're on the road.

The media could not be loaded. If you do anything outdoors you know just how crucial solid metal stakes are. This Mongpiens heavy duty tent stake kit definitely offers solid steel stakes (you get 8). These offer a very solid welded hook with an eyelet for additional rope support options, this is a lot better than the plastic topped alternatives. This also has 8 stretchy glow in the dark stake bands to help prevent you from tripping over those hidden guylines in the night. Moreover you also get 4 dark green guylines (13 feet each) that have a woven reflective strip through the entire length. The reflective strip is extremely visible with even a dim flashlight, this is something that I truly love as I frequently forget exactly where those trip lines are placed. These also have 4 aluminum line adjustment tensioners pre attached, this is an upgrade from what most tents come with. Obviously this also includes a hammer / puller for super easy stake installation / removal in multiple types of terrain. If you've ever tried to set stakes in gravel you definitely understand the value of a hammer and solid stakes. The hammer head and the bottom puller hook is steel and the handle itself is thick aluminum, this definitely is a solid hammer that can be handy for more than stakes. The back of the hammerhead offers a pry remover for stakes along with a bottle top remover for added utility. There is also a clip on strap for the hammer that can easily be removed or reattached depending on your needs. I would also like to note that the strap for the hammer can be utilized as an additional handle beyond the hammer head itself, to get extra stuck stakes out of the ground. You can wrap it around the head of the hammer or with a little extra effort string it through the hole in the middle and grasp both ends of the strap as it may be more comfortable for smaller hands. The final part of this kit is a very solid carry bag that obviously holds all the aforementioned items but also has space to hold more stakes and such items. This is extremely helpful if you have more than one thing you plan to utilize stakes for as you can have everything easily organized for when you need it. In closing as someone who loves the outdoors and frequently utilizes tents, tarps, and other diy outdoors shelters that all require stakes I highly recommend getting this Mongpiens kit. This will give you a fantastic starter kit or add some extra stakes and tools you may not have had yet at a much better price point than buying each component separately. I have always used those thin stakes that come with tents that if you happen to trip over they pull right out of the ground. Well no more. I had no idea what I was missing. These are sturdy, hammer in solidly, and so far have been able to stake down my tent during some strong storms. I cannot go back to those worthless stakes.

This has every feature I've always wanted from a set of tent stakes. The stakes are thick and plenty long. The hammer is a real joy. The hammer is much heavier than I expected and only takes a few hits to drive a stake fully into the ground. I absolutely LOVE that the hammer has a claw on the back for pulling stakes back out of the ground. It's really well thought out and a feature I've dreamed of. I've literally abandoned stakes before because they were too hard to pull out through random other means I tried to think up. The glow in the dark o-rings work exceptionally well - my photo is taken from 5 feet away. The including tie-down string has really effective reflective material woven into. I love that the bag is oversized. You can see in one of my photos I already put my rubber mallet inside and it's a perfect fit! I plan to throw in all my other random stakes and tie-down straps since it's large enough to carry all that stuff. This is a PHENOMENAL kit! It's well worth the meager $25 price point. I've spent well over that in the past on various cheapo stakes from various stores that end up breaking or having to be abandoned. Just do it! You'll thank yourself so much for having this with you in your camp site! 5/5! Wish I would have had something like this the past 10 years I've been camping and hiking!

I really wanted this items for the heavy duty tent stakes. I've bought the cheap aluminum stakes several times over and they would bend the moment the ground wasn't soft. So far, these tent stakes have stood up to the test and been sturdier than those cheaper versions. I do wish that they have a slightly different design at the top that would allow me to use these stakes for different uses - for instance, using them to hold down a baseball batting practice net with 1" tubes. This really only works for using line to tie to a tent or tarp. Overall, i like this product. Hopefully the stakes hold up and don't rust out or bend.
