Installed this outside the shower for my senior mom. Instructions were easy - just make sure to gather your tools beforehand and drill into the studs. One of the screws included stripped on drilling in so you may want to get some extra screws or just be careful. I had already installed four of these in our shower to make things easier for my wife. She asked for one more, so there was no question about what brand and style it would be. The trick with a tiled wall is always finding the stud, but since I had already installed one bar on that side, it was a piece of cake (assuming the builder had actually placed the next stud 16" away). I really love the bracket design Moen has created; it makes it relatively easy to drive three screws into each bracket for a truly secure grab bar. My only suggestion: ignore their idea of using a hand Phillips to drive the screws. You've already drilled 1/8" pilot holes so go ahead and soap up the screws and use your power drill to do the job. ... show more

I have installed several of them for my mom and myself. I’m a nurse and a paramedic, falls are one of the worse things. You don’t have to be old to fall…kids fall too…so don’t look at the price$…what would be the price of a fall to someone you love or even yourself? Moen put the rubber grip on the underside of the bar which it so important because when you’re hands are wet and soapy you don’t want to depend on your grip strength on a smooth chrome bar to catch your fall, you need the rubber underside to grab onto!
