I got the white base/white shade lamp. Arrived with all parts intact, well packaged. Unlike some others the shade came already fully assembled, just take it out of the box and flip it right side up to fit it on the base and insert the bulb, then screw on the insert ring, voila, you're done. Plug it in and tap tap tap to 3 levels of brightness, worked perfectly. Love the sleek design and the fact that the entire base is metal and therefore responds to touch no matter where you touch it, even if you're half asleep fumbling in the dark. It's about 18 inches tall, which is what I wanted rather than a tiny 15 or less inches, but still for the size I think $39 was a bit high to pay. But it's got the qualities I needed and I couldn't find another that was better for a lower price so I had no choice. The media could not be loaded. Needed a lamp that was simple for my mom to turn on and off and this is perfect for her bedroom. Touch 1, 2 or 3 times for brightness. It's not too bright if you are looking to light up an entire room, but works for the area you have it in. We use it mostly on the first brightness level for a nightlight for her in case she gets up at night. The silver looks modern. It is a small lamp, but the bottom is heavy enough that it's sturdy.
