I'm so glad to have found this huge oversized blanket!! We have one similar we've had for 20+ years and it badly needs replacement. We use these as a blanket/bedspread for our monster king size platform bed. I don't like the weight/thickness of the traditional comforters/bedspreads -- they are too hot and heavy to sleep under so they end up on the floor all night and are a fight to put back on the bed in the morning. We've lived in AZ and UT and these cotton blankets are on the bed year round. In the summer it's just the sheets and this blanket. In the winter it's sheets, down comforter and this blanket. Since they are 100% cotton, they will shrink. There was no odor at all when I opened the package, but I wash everything that's washable before I use it. All the cotton bedding gets hot water, high heat dryer. I didn't measure the blanket before I washed it, but after washing/drying it measures at 112" x 119". Still works for me so I'm happy with that. Besides price, I chose this blanket over the more expensive blankets because the weave on this one appears to be tighter than most of the other (more expensive) 100% cotton blankets. The other (more expensive) blankets have an extremely loose weave that looks like it will snag easily. This is an extremely well made blanket and the price is a bargain!!

I have my thermostat at 68 most nights, a dehumidifier in my room (I live in South Louisiana), a big metal fan blowing from my feet, AND a personal fan blowing on my face. All this and I still. Wake. Up. Sweating. Because I'm not a complete psychopath, I can't sleep without a blanket over me. I don't like just a thin sheet because it blows in the hurricane force winds my fan creates. So I typically like a top cover over my flat sheet. A ridiculous preference for a hot sleeper, I know. I've tried numerous blankets that are either too thick and don't breathe, or too light and it blows in the fan. Enter this blanket. First of all, it's not super soft like you'd expect. It feels like a heavy collared shirt that your dad wears material. It's not ideal to put directly on your skin, but I use the flat sheet as mentioned earlier, so that's not a concern for me. It's thin, super thin, but does actually have some weight to it. Enough weight to where it feels like I'm under covers, and it doesn't blow in the fan. AND IT BREATHES LIKE A SHEET. The night I got this blanket was the first night I got a full night's sleep without sweating and overheating. I actually got a little cold. My boyfriend felt the same way. He's a hot sleeper too. It actually allowed us to cuddle in a non winter month (it's currently May). This delightfully breathable blanket is an absolute must for summer time for hot sleepers. I cannot recommend this enough!

I like this. It kind of reminds me of the hospital blankets that they give you but the comfortable ones when you’re cold that are warm. So if you’re looking for a super soft comforter this is probably not what you’re looking for but it’s all cotton and that’s important because a lot of the other things are made out of bad material for our bodies. I would buy another one in a different color. I got the white one and it fits my twin mattress 12 inch perfectly. Even though it’s lightweight it keeps you warm but not hot.

This blanket has become my favorite so quickly that I bought an additional one in another color! I love the texture which is cottony but soft. It will keep you warm but not HOT as the cotton is nice and breathable, which was a big feature I was looking for. It looks good as a bedspread or on the couch and feels well made. In a weird way, it reminds me of a way more comfortable blanket popular at hospitals lol

This blanket is exactly what I was looking for and I think if you really understand what a pure cotton blanket is before purchasing, you will have no issue. With respect to some of the negative reviews, I agree the description is misleading when it describes the blanket as "soft." A pure cotton blanket is not going to be soft - at least not in the traditional sense. The blanket has some stiffness to it, and it has some weight to it though I would not say it is heavy by any means. It is thin, as I'd expect it to be - and in combination with the weight, this provides warmth in cooler months and stays breathable in warmer months (this is why I like, and the reason I buy, cotton blankets). In response to reviews that said the blanket is more like a tablecloth... it is not that thin, truly - but don't expect to receive a soft, fluffy blanket because that is not what this is. It is, as some reviewers have stated, very much like a hospital blanket. Details and Measurements, for reference: I ordered the blanket in white and it is pure white. I make this point because another reviewer ordered white and described what was received as ecru. I assume that must have been a mix up with the shipment because what I received is definitely a true white. The blanket did not pill after washing, and I did not find significant lint in the dryer lint trap. I'm using this blanket in a guest room and if the description is correct and the blanket is supposed to measure 90X90, it's either off, or it shrunk when I washed it. Note - I did NOT follow the instructions (must be washed in cold water, gentle cycle, as much water as possible). The blanket, after washing in warm water with other items and tumble drying low, measures about 92X82. The queen size mattress I'm using it on is about 10" high and the blanket falls about 12" from the top of the mattress on either side. It falls about 16" from the top of the mattress at the foot of the bed, enough for me to tuck in securely. So I think it works fine and I'm happy with it. That said, I purchased the same blanket in gray for another guest room with a queen bed, so I will measure the blanket before and after I wash it, and this time I will follow the instructions to see if it makes any difference and update this review accordingly. One comment about Utopia - I received an email thanking me for my purchase, offering tracking information for the item, and requesting that if there was any reason I would not rate the item as 5 stars, to please let them know and they would try to make it right. Now, I am rating the item 5 stars so I can't say how responsive they might have been if I were to have a problem, but I thought it was very proactive and customer friendly to reach out in this manner so I thought I'd mention it.
