  • Excellent fan. I've installed two
Color: White
Excellent fan. I've installed two, and keep ordering them for friends and family. Very easy installation, although I would prefer that the pictures in the instructions be a bit more detailed. The remote is large and easy to use. I've added a wall remote to both of the ones I've put in. This fan is gorgeous, very modern. It throws a huge amount of air, due to the curved blades. The light is very bright, but has a dimmer built in. Both fans are rock solid steady when on at high speed. Very well balanced. You can hear a slight whine at high speed. High speed blows papers all over the room. Get it, you'll like it. ... show more

  • fans quit after 2 uses, waiting to hear back from the seller
Color: White
These were easy to install (done by an electrician), produce a lot of air, blend into the white ceiling which is what we wanted. Remotes work great, the light is bright and works better than we thought. Downfall, mostly plastic. Update, the fan is controlled by a remote. we used the fan 2 times and both of them quit working! We changed the batteries in the remote, changed the frequencies of the fans, called the electrician-checked the wall switch, the problem is the fans....We are waiting to hear back from the seller. ... show more

  • Does not come with 4.5" down rod. Picture of light cover is not what you get. Otherwise good fan.
Color: White
Nice fan for the price. It is not whisper quiet, but it is more quiet than the super cheap Hunter fans you get at box stores for $100 to $200. The remote works well and I also bought a wall switch that works well. Fan is balanced well. Construction and quality of parts is good, assembly is easy. The LED light is bright and very good. It dims, but not smoothly. The product description states that this comes with a 6" and 4.5" down rod. That is not true and the box has the 4.5" covered with a white sticker. This only comes with a 6" rod. The picture of the light cover is also just some random stock photo and looks nothing like the picture of the light on the fan. It amazes me how a company can sell thousands of fans and still not take a picture. Four stars for misrepresenting the down rod and light cover. ... show more

  • The secret to dimming the light is….
Color: White
My interior designer chose this fan for our family room. We really like it. It gives gives plenty of air, is sleek looking and doesn’t stand out. Our ceilings and walls are white and that’s what we were going for. We have had this fan for just shy of a year now and always wondered why the remote control seemed like it had a dim the light option but never found it to work that way. I finally emailed the company ( they have great customer service by the way!) and felt compelled to come back and leave q review along with their response in hopes of helping others. Here is why that they said, “ The light dims in range by pressing and holding down the same button to turn on/off the light to see if it brightens or dims to your liking. Thank you kindly.” Alas! The lights do dim!! You won’t be disappointed in this fan. Should you have any issues, email them with a copy of your receipt ( so they know what you purchased) at [email protected] ... show more

  • Speeds Too slow
Color: White
This Fan barely moves! the first and second speeds are a joke and the 3rd speed is at the level of medium at best. Total fail from my perspective. Trying to reach customer service but always on hold!

  • Not all features work via remote.. but not a deal breaker.
Color: White
Easy install in my opinion. Looks good. However, the reverse feature on the wall control does not seem to work with it. It pauses, and speeds up and returns to the previous setting. Too expensive for these types of failures. The portable remote works fine, but does not have the reverse direction feature on it. I have to manually switch direction on the unit itself. Other than that, it works great, ample light and is very quiet. It is right above my bed, so I'm grateful for that. ... show more

  • How to program the remotes for multiple fans to avoid interference
Color: White
I have 6 minkas (5 of them the minka-aire light waves) in my house it's not that hard to program each one to match it's own remote. The range is 40-50 feet so we have to program them (see steps below)I get compliments from visitors all the time, and they work well for both light and cooling. Two electricians have told me they really like minka-aire. That made me feel better about shelling out over $1000 for the 6 fans. 1. Turn off all the minkas (in your case both minka fans). This can be done at either the light switch or circuit breaker. We just turn off all the light switches that power the fans. 2. Choose the fan/remote that you want to pair. The instructions tell you to change the "dip stick" settings for the fan. I thought this would be in my ceiling fan, but for my minka-aire light waves, it's in the REMOTE. Slide the cover on the back of the remote to expose the battery. Just above the battery are 2 black rectangles, each with 4 small switches that can be slid up (on) or down (off) and are labeled 1,2,3,4. These are the dip stick settings. The pattern of the switches need to be different on each of the remotes. So, if it's fan #1, slide the switch "1" on the 1st rectangle up so that it's "on". Leave all the others down. For fan #2, slide switch "2" up, leave all the other switches down, etc. If you have more than 8 fans, you can slide more than 1 switch up at a time (e.g. both switch 1 and switch 2) to create more combinations. 3. Turn on the power for that fan at the light switch (or the breaker). Within 60 seconds (without pushing any other buttons), push and hold down the "stop" button on the remote for at least 10 seconds. It's the round button on the receiver has a picture of a square. It's the button that usually turns off the fan. In this case, holding it down for 10 seconds will pair the remote with any minka fan which has been switched on (that's why you turned off all the other fans). When it's paired, my ceiling fan light blinks on and off. If your ceiling fan doesn't have a light, I don't know what happens. If it doesn't work, I repeat all the steps, but it usually works. If you want one remote for 2 fans in the same room, then just turn on the light switch for both fans before you hold down the stop button for the one remote. 4. Turn off the light switch for the fan you just programmed. 5. Go to the next fan, change the dipstick settings in the back of the REMOTE to a different pattern from the first fan. Turn the light switch on just for that fan. Push and hold down the "stop" button on the remote for 10 seconds ... show more
