    • Wasn't even worth the $30
The media could not be loaded. I wanted to like this product. The product itself felt very solid including the tripod that came with it although both were made out of high-density resin plastic. To start, this is a very 'bare bones' projector. It gave off Windows 95 vibes once I turned it on. Even though the unit didn't include any instructions to set up, I found it to be a plug-n-play device for the most part. It starts by displaying a simple menu offering iOS, Android, USB play and settings. Projector displayed on the wall, my blue tooth speaker connected easily and provided good sound, the unit kept cool for the entire 45 minutes I spent playing videos from my USB flash drive by the cooling fan inside which seemed quiet enough. Now for the bad. While I was able to set up and connect the projector to my home wifi network just fine, the Miracast app from the menu could not find that same network. It stayed in search mode continuously looking for connected networks without ever finding it. The only feature I was able to use was the USB flash drive. I plugged my flash drive in, ran a few videos which played just fine except the display was very dim, so much that it caused a lot of dark contrast and dull color. Unfortunately, there were no options to brighten the picture, add color or adjust the contrast. Stuck with a poor picture. I included a short video to show the poor projector quality and yes, my phone video cam records in HD. Yes, the quality from the projector was THAT bad. 😬 ... show more

I actually had a good experience with this projector. I tried it out on the bedroom ceiling while mirroring my phone. Let's get the cons out of the way first... 1. I agree with other reviewers who mentioned the sound quality. It's very tinny and not ideal for movie watching, but connecting it to an external speaker with the aux connection solved that problem. 2. It was a little tricky to connect my phone to it. Mirroring was the best way. Both devices have to be connected to the same wifi network, and you need to pair them. The annoying thing about this is that you'll have to keep your phone plugged in since you can't turn off the screen. 3. The power cord is very short, so you will need an extension cord. 4. The mirroring app that the instructions recommend is not a free app, you have to pay extra. I found I didn't need it, though because my iphone has the feature built in. Once connected it worked really well. The focus is very sharp. I didn't find the image to be too dark as others have said, but when comparing to my phone's image, I could see how the colors were off, but not to the point of it being horrible quality or unwatchable. The tripod with the swivel attachment is very useful. I'm looking forward to setting this up in the backyard for outdoor movie nights! ... show more

    • Don't set your expectations too high
I was really looking forward to this projector. And, to be fair, it does work as you would expect (with some pretty big differences.) There are 3 things I'm sorely disappointed in. 1. The brightness of the picture, which the ad states is 'very bright.' It is not. In a room with no other light source at all, when projected on a pure white wall, the picture dark. Barely visible in the 'mid-range' of brightness. The brightest areas were still darker and 'muddy' looking. The darker areas were just pure black. So disappointing. 2. The built in speakers. Terrible. I didn't expect miracles. Built in speakers in small electronics are never great. There just isn't enough room to put in high quality speakers. But, these.... Uugh! In the first 10 seconds of the downloaded movie I played, I turned the volume up . . and up . . . and up, trying to make it loud enough to understand. As it neared the top of the volume, the sound dropped to a muffled, mumble. I was never able to get the built in speaker sound to improve after that. So, I plugged in a set of computer speakers. (A pair of speakers with a 10" base cube.) The sound was much better, but the volume was still pretty low. 3. The power adapter block on the power cord got hot after just a few minutes of use. I don't think it's going to start a fire or anything like that, but I do think it could overheat and burn itself out. The Menu wasn't complicated, but there are only a handful of options. Everything could have easily been on a single screen. Separate folders weren't needed. THE POSITIVE STUFF: * I plugged in a USB Jump Drive. It acquired seamlessly, and played perfectly! * The audio out 3.5mm jack worked perfectly. (Just wish it were a bit louder.) * The included Tripod is Solid enough to hold the projector securely. The legs also extend to widen the base, and lift the projector higher. * I liked the easy access of the focus. * The keystone adjustment was effective & simple to use. * The picture quality is good, from what I could tell. Pretty sharp & decent color. Just very dark. ... show more
