Easy to Assemble, Everything Works, Smooth and QUIET!
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Color: Black
Review Image by HummerLover
I recently had hip surgery. I do many exercises at physical therapy, but I noticed that riding the recumbent bike seems to loosen my hip, warm it up, and help with discomfort. I think it just keeps the blood flowing. At present those are the benefits I'm looking for right now; I may want to do more resistance and muscle building in the future, but for the present, this little machine as described just seemed to hit the target I was looking for. It arrived today, and I was very excited. I opened it right away and assembled it. Assembly was very easy, and very good instructions are included. That was only about a 15 minute exercise. Also there are good videos on youtube that show it to you in 2 minutes flat. I would recommend searching for one of those just to be sure you aren't leaving anything out. I really dislike redoing things and I bet you do, too. All the parts were there and everything went together like a charm with stabilizers, feet, and straps being the main parts. The straps were already on the feet and happily fit just right, but they can be adjusted to be bigger or smaller. Although most reviews were very good, and this little unit today is the number one of 100 in physical therapy leg exercisers, some reviews had me a little concerned about how smooth and easy the pedaling would be. I couldn't wait to use it and see which side I would fall on. I needn't have worried. It immediately worked smoothly and pedaled easily and quietly. If you look at my video, the background noise is from the kitchen, not the device. You can hardly hear it when you're using it. It easily goes from no or very little resistance to medium resistance, and the monitor works exactly as described. The battery was already installed. I have it on carpet. It doesn't move around when I'm pedaling and it's not up against any barrier. I can sit comfortably in my chair and pedal to my heart's content. I love it! It's exactly what I wanted, and I did also want to mention that I got it from Amazon Resale (formerly Amazon Warehouse). When I started to purchase it, the offer for the unit in "Used Like New" condition popped up for half the price! I have found that items that are "Used Like New" are just that, like new, and the price was great, so that's the one I got. It arrived in perfect order in its original box, which actually appeared to have never been opened. I enjoy using this little exerciser, and I already know it's going to help me improve faster. I am thrilled with this purchase. I highly recommend this Mini Exercise Bike! ... show more

Excellent product at a great price!
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Color: Black
In the last 4 months, I've had both my knees replaced, and was looking for an exercise bike that didn't take up to much space, to use for in home physical therapy. A family member recommended a mini exercise bike and after looking at different models and reading a bunch of reviews, I chose the Himaly under desk model and have been very happy with how well it works. It's easy to assemble, is sturdy and sits pretty stable on it's mat. It gives me a nice in home workout. ... show more

A very good value
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Color: Black
Review Image by Lester Gesteland
I have no time to write product reviews, but I felt the urge to write this one because it's rare to find a low-cost item that can be as useful and as beneficial to one's health as this one. We, the many, who work at a desk, whether it be at home or at work, are slowly killing ourselves when we keep our ever-expanding duffs in a chair. Study after study has shown that movement during the day, preferably every 30 minutes, lowers blood sugar, heart-rate, and blood pressure, and improves one's metabolism and mood, among other things. I work at a standing desk, so I stand until my legs get tired, then sit until my back aches. Then I stand back up, sit down, etc., repeating this cycle throughout the day. This is good for my health while standing because I make an effort to move around (dancing, bending and unbending my knees, etc.). But while I'm sitting down I'm doing nothing but adding to my never-shrinking waistline. Enter the mini exercise bike. This product has added movement to my sitting time. I bought the Himaly version, and found it quick and simple to assemble, and easy to use. I have been using it for a couple of days now, and have already felt the results. What are those results? My thighs ache, and this is a good muscle ache, not the I-broke-my-hip ache. So why a four-star instead of a five-star review? Because I found two complaints about this device to be true: 1. It moves around when you pedal. 2. The calorie-counting screen is rubbish. That said, for me these are tiny problems. Yes, the mini-bike moves when I pedal, but only a tiny bit (it is on a carpeted floor), and when it is pushed too far away I simply pick it up with my feet (which are in pedal straps -- see pic) and move it back in place. And regarding the inaccurate calorie-counting screen? Who cares?! Are any of these counters correct, even on a $3000 Peloton? I don't think so. What matters to me is that after spending only a little bit of money I can now get some exercise while planting my butt in a chair, and that has made all the difference. ... show more

Missing parts, but overall you get what you pay for
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Color: Black
At first I thought the instructions were just confusing, but it turns out I was missing two support plates that are supposed to go under the front and back supports. I managed to put it together anyway, and it feels relatively solid. But when you have 4 bolts and washers left over, you wonder. The instructions also don't really explain how to work the display, so I'll let you know. The red button turns it on, and it will go off by itself with inactivity. Press and hold red button to zero out the readings. Quick press the red button to cycle between readings. Each reading (time, distance, #pedal cycles, calories) can be on constant display or scan between all of them. However, the scan function is available between each function, which is a little confusing. Each press on the button gives you: Scan: time Time Scan: distance Distance Scan: rotations Rotations Scan: calories Calories So if you just want to watch your time, you have to click that little button until the tiny arrow points to T and the word "scan" is absent. This has a small pedal radius, so it'll take some finagling to get yourself positioned optimally. Otherwise, it's a bit jerky. I think it helps to be up a bit higher than your standard couch, recliner, or kitchen chair. But it's still not going to allow the full motion of a bicycle or gym bike. How could you expect it to? We got this for my daughter who is doing a recovery program and needs something to do while seated to elevate her heart rate for a few minutes. For that, it's more than adequate. But if this was going to be your main or sole source of exercise, and if you had the space and money, I'd get something like a recumbent bike. Still easy to use, but much more natural full movements. However, this might just be me because the comments seem full of people who do use it as a sole exercise source and sing its praises. Overall, it was under $50 and I think is pretty much what we expected for that price. ... show more

Not Stationary, Not Accurate, Not Exercise, Not Working
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Color: Sliver
So when you get a product this cheap, you kind of have to expect to get what you pay for. The bike was advertised as a stationary bike that you can pedal under your desk or place on a desk to pedal with your arms to get a workout and, to be fair, it does do those things. The problem is that the bike does not make any of this easy. For one, the bike itself is incredibly light, which seems like a good thing initially until you start to pedal. Since it is so light, it is very easy for the entire bike to move around, making it harder to keep a consistent rhythm with your legs or your arms. In addition, the bike has no catch to carpet or the rubber pad provided to prevent it from moving around, so there isn't really a way to fix the problem other than pushing it against a heavy object as you pedal and hoping for the best. The LCD is also a bit inaccurate in terms of calories burned as I believe that the amount of calories burned is consistent for anyone who uses the bike. While this may seem nice, I doubt that cycling on this for about 15 minutes without breaking a sweat means I'm burning 100 calories each time. Losing weight and burning calories is hard and having a bike with an inaccurate LCD is only going to do more harm than good as you won't actually be able to keep track of how many calories you burn. To make matters worse, the bike has almost no resistance with the pedaling, which kind of defeats the purpose as an exercise bike. The idea is to have some resistance to engage your body and encourage energy use, but the lack of resistance means you would need to be pedaling for a very long time before you get to that point. If you do try to increase the tension on the bike, you either get no change or get too much resistance, which makes the bike more likely to move before the pedal itself. Worse yet is that if you can manage to move the pedal, a horrible squeak soon starts with every cycle and it will not go away until you stop and remove the tension. Finally, the reason why I give this a one-star review despite everything else listed above comes from the last time I used it, which was a 15 minute cycle with increased tension and the horrible squeak. Really trying to make this work, I pedaled on to get some resistance until I smelt burnt rubber. Removing the LCD let out a bunch of smoke from something burning in the bike, which I assume was from something melting into the cycle as it will no longer pedal now. While I'd like to assume I was shredding the bike to the point of falling apart, I had only been pedaling for 15 minutes and at a moderate pace. If that was enough to break this bike, then nothing else should convince you that this product just isn't worth it. ... show more
