This is a great little chainsaw- I used it to clear out some small trees and shrubs and it worked like a beast. Auto oiler, sharp chain, good balance, DeWalt battery compatible for those with the platform, and smooth running. It is easy to use and feels solidly built. This unit is ideal for cutting down treelike weeds. Many of mine were over an inch thick. This unit also has a meter that tells how your battery is holding out. It is located just above the trigger area and is very visible. With a DeWalt 5 amp battery, you will like wear out before the battery does. Never got mine below 65%. The chain is easy to adjust. No tools required. Just loosen the locking nut, and then turn the knob to adjust the chain tension, then retighten the locking nut. The unit has a self oiling feature that includes a visible window to moniter the oil level. It looks like the oiler feeds by gravity only, so be sure to rotate the unit to allow vertically for the oil to flow. That would be a good time to check the oil level. Amazon has many replacement blades for the saw and at a resonable price. So far I have not broken the cutting chain. I also have not tried sharpening the blade. I choose this chainsaw because I already have DeWalt batteries and chargers. Others were cheaper but who want multiple incompatible chargers and batteries laying around. The only short coming is there is no case to store it in. Yes, I recommend this chain saw for light duty projects.

I fired it up right out of the box and easily cut thru a couple dozen sticks between 1" and 6". The saw has plenty of power. The power meter still shows 90%+, (but it was my battery). I can see oil being thrown by the chain, so that may be an issue that others have pointed out. I guess too much is better than not enough. Wish it worked off bubble pump instead. I like that it came with 2 bars and 4 chains. Wish it came with a case for portability. Should be very handy for camping/hunting. First impressions are very good. I'll update if I have issues.

Seems great so far, runs perfect. I'll update with results after giving it a workout over the next couple seasons, we'll see how it holds up. Update: since writing this I've used it a good bit and it's been fantastic. Trimmed a pile of kudzu the size of a van off a fence here in about 30 minutes, it would have taken days with hand trimmers, and it wouldn't be done nearly as well. I wanted to drop off a suggestion, for anyone struggling to figure out how to fill the small plastic bottle this comes with for applying drops of oil. Other's have mentioned using a tiny funnel, or I could imagine a syringe might work too, but I found a much easier and faster way than either of those options. Here's what you can do: find a small squarish container you can put about a cup of chain oil into. Wear at least one nitrile glove and with that hand, squeeze most of the air out of the empty container and hold it underneath the oil surface, so it's submerged completely as it recovers it's normal form (you might need to squeeze it a bit against the edge of the container a bit to help it out, oil is thick). then once it's back to regular form, repeat this a couple times but hold it under the oil the entire time, tilt the pool container so you can push the squeeze bottle into a bottom corner of it (it will be very slippery and elusive), with the opening facing slightly more upward so the air collects there that remains in the bottle. Compress it into that corner and remaining air should leave the bottle, let it recover and refill submerged, and repeat that until compressing the bottle no longer produces any bubbles. Then remove and wipe it down and it will be completely full to the brim, and you can pour the rest of the pool oil back into it's container. Very simple, and quick. The saw is light and comfortable in my hand, I'm using it with 2ah tiny batteries at first and we'll see how long those last, but I have 6ah and 9ah too if that helps the balance or runtime, we'll see. I will update in the future if there are durability issues. I really like the braking feature, so the chain stops the moment you release the trigger. I took one star off because this version does not have an included case. A hardshell case with this would be perfect, especially if it had some space for batteries even though they're not included. (Update: I've used it a bit, and it's been such an absolute champ that I'm putting it up to 5 stars anyways. Really wish it had a hardshell case though).

Happy with it. Cuts fairly well, occasional hang ups on the chain guard or plastic "teeth" to hold on branches. Battery life is great, cut enough to fill up yard debris bin with small cut branches and barely used a bar. Safety wise can be a little sketchy because it can hop around a bit. chain that came on it stretched a lot and required constant adjustment when first starting to use it. Cut 4in limbs no problem with the small bar. Had a bunch of limbs to cut up, this works so much better than trying to use a sawzall, so much less violent and easier to use. One of the only cons I would say is the size of the chain oil cap, it is tiny, even when dumping it from a small water bottle, bottle that came with it is the same size of opening. Also could be a con that the included instructions are from a slightly different model, not surprising from a no name brand copying a legit brand. Used it for a few hours and so far durability wise it has held up well.

So far so good. I tried a different brand and liked but the adjustment knob broke. Got this new one mainly because of the reviews and the adjustment mechanism looked better, and it is better. The build quality seems good, it's bit heavier that the previous one which gives me a little more confidence in the quality, it's a stronger motor and it cuts really well. It's surprisingly strong. I like that it comes with two sets of bar and chains. Great for trimming branches and small diameter trees. Using the 6 inch bar and chain it easily cuts 4-5 inch branches. So light and easy to maneuver. Electric so it quiet and less messy. Seems durable, but time will tell. I live in the country and have used a lot of chainsaw. I like having this one, small, highly portable, and surprisingly capable. Like it so far.
