This is a great tool to add to a backyard tool collection. If this is your first chainsaw, please study up on how chainsaws work and how to take care of them before using this saw. The instructions are non-existent when describing bar oil or saw care. The only thing (besides warnings) the instructions talk about is how to replace the chain. For anyone who has ever used a chainsaw, this is a very intuitive saw. I have everything from a saw running a 12" bar to a saw running a 24" bar (and ones in between), so this was very easy to just pick up and use properly. Be careful when cutting a small tree that the saw doesn't get bound. Make sure to add bar oil (something you buy separately). The saw comes with a little container that you pour oil into and then pour into the the little reservoir on top (it has a little plastic push-bulb). Two things - one: Don't cut the tip of the little container too far down, or the cap won't fit (oops!) and two: frequently push the little plastic bulb on the saw so that oil goes around on the chain to keep it from heating up while cutting. Most saws lube the chain automatically, this one doesn't. When the wood spray given off by the chain turns from flakes to sawdust, it's time to sharpen or replace the chain (your choice). It's handy it comes with two batteries. Neither will last very long. This isn't made for long term cutting projects, but for limbing a branch here or there, or maybe pruning a fruit tree or two. I would give the instructions one star if I could, but the saw itself is a five star product. It comes with fabric gloves (not really good for much besides keeping sap off your hands?) and super cheap safety glasses (they come apart really easily).

The media could not be loaded. Saw (pun intended) this much needed Aowei Mini Chainsaw Cordless, 6 inch Electric Chain Saw with 2 Pack 2.0Ah Rechargeable Batteries - and had to take a chance on it. I have a courtyard with a bit of a jungle forming within it (bougainvillea and palm trees) and desperately needed a tough - but smaller-size tool to tackle it. Never had a chainsaw before so I was a bit intimidated (also being a nurse had safety concerns). Sooooo happy I went with this great find! It comes with everything advertised and already assembled which is a great help. I love that it comes with safety glasses and gloves. The gloves aren’t going to stop a chainsaw injury, but will help while handling branches, sliding the chain to free clogged debris from chain and such. It’s relatively easy to handle and operate. You really only have to charge 1 of the 2 batteries included to get started (you’ll also need lubricant oil - not included). There is a safety button on the side that (for me) was a bit of a stretch to keep pushed down along with the ON/Go button to operate. My initial thought was “It will be easy for a left-handed person” as it will automatically be covered by the palm of their hand (vs my right handed thumb necessary) while activating the push-style “ON” button at the front with the fingertips. After playing with it for a while I am able to operate it with one hand. I always joke that I have “man hands” and wear large to XL gloves at work so don’t think it’s my hand size. The video I included shows initial testing of it. I couldn’t get a good shot with only one hand and wouldn’t recommend doing it that way, as I couldn’t get a good cut without holding the little branches with my other hand (holding the camera), and so the chain would clog - not their fault. The instructions could use some improvement as: 1. The instructions first say to assemble the chain to the guide blade and so I was a little confused because it looked like there was one attached already. (Again, this is my 1st chainsaw). But there was also a sealed package with chain included within the pieces received. So after further inspection verified it was pre assembled and I had received 2 chains with this item. Did not realize that extra chain would be included - But also very happy! 2. They do give a handy little bottle to use for adding oil, but NO guidance on the oil needed or installation/ importance of using same before operation. Especially as the advertisement & packaging states “auto oil”. I don’t mind buying the oil needed but that info should be included to prevent malfunction. (I did find info online but had to spend additional time researching it). Any “Bar and Chain Oil” type works. I love the two batteries because I don’t always remember to charge it. Also, when I use it for extended amounts of time I can easily switch it out. After using it now, I can say that it works exactly for what I intended and I love it. All in all, happy with this product and would get it again.

For the money this is a little beast. As can see in the photo I cut up a whole tree that got broke off in a storm and that was on the battery as it came in the box. It still even had life left. So I can’t say anything bad about this other then the chains will probably stretch and wear out if you keep abusing it like I just did. For Trimming it’s great as it’s light and one handed use. If need to cut up a whole tree it’s going f to do it but I had to tighten the chain 3 times so doing that I can see going through chains as they stretch. I was curious if could it did so won’t keep abusing it so don’t have to keep buying new chains. It comes with one spare so hope to have it last a while. But it’s great for walking the property cleaning up low hanging branches that hit me mowing. It has enough power and is sharp enough it only stopped on me 2 times as it cut pretty quick and I just bound it up. But for the money you cannot go wrong.
