EDIT 4/9/2024: I have used this in more extensive and challenging situations for a good while now, and have discovered that while this is a feature packed kit that does work well when maintained properly and diligently, it suffers from a major drawback that should be addressed. The chain is difficult to tension just right, and the included tension knob does not seem to keep the chain in tension on the bar for as long as I would like, though it does to a usable degree. However, if for any particular reason a user experiences some chain stalling during some cuts, this drastically shortens the amount of time the chain is in tension on the guide bar. Be very careful and check the chain every single time that it gets snagged in a cut. While using the product, I have had the chain unseat itself from the guide bar during use and fly back towards my hand, which is one of the worst things that can happen using a chainsaw. If the bar guide and the hand guard were not included features, that particular incident could have ended differently. As it is, this product should be used with caution, maintained very frequently in regards to the chains tension, and honestly, the tensioning system should be overhauled in a future version with stronger hardware that keep the chain reliably tensioned at all times in ordinary use. ------------------------------ I have been holding out for a while on a mini chainsaw, knowing it would be useful, but convincing myself that lugging around my 18" electric chainsaw for hours while pruning would be time and energy better spent. However, when I saw this, I knew it was time to put my hunch to the test. Everything is packed in box, but the set comes with a mini duffle to conveniently store it all in. The chainsaw has both a D-handle grip and a blade guard for wandering hands near the top of the chainsaw bar, and it has bar sheath for stowing it. One or two of these safety features might not seem unusual, but all three together is not common either. It comes with obligatory gloves (a feature that a lot of tools, be they for the workshop, the lawn, or the garden, are sporting, one that I both appreciate and find tiresome simultaneously), a pair of safety glasses (obligatory, but very useful, one can never have enough eye protection), two 20 volt batteries, and two 6 inch chainsaw chains, one of which is pre-attached. On starting up, I thought, because I checked the chain/bar oil gauge and couldn't see any in there, that it had none. So I proceeded to fill up and realized that it either came pre-oiled, or it's reservoir was smaller than I was prepared for, because it made a huge spill-out all over the machine, which is thankfully just fine after thorough cleaning. I took it for a spin pruning some branches, and realized this was the beginning of something special. It cuts quick and easily, rarely snags, and when it does, the size/weight of the saw makes it easy to remove from the situation. It can handle around 5 inch trees, but if done carefully and correctly, it can go up to ten inches, though I usually have my other chainsaw out when using this anyway, so I end up defaulting to the 18 inch one for big jobs. It is quiet, safe, and since it includes two batteries, charging a spent one while using the previously charged one is an included experience. This is my first experience with a mini chainsaw, but this is a particularly good one and not badly priced either.

Now that it's warmed up outside, I finally got to test this little chainsaw out on some very low hanging branches around my coops. I was impressed by how easily it cut through the pine limbs, like butter. We cut about 35, maybe 40 of them and the battery ran strong the whole time. It's just the right size for me, and I'll be working it all summer.

... into the woods to cut some more trees! We have been clearing along our fence line for weeks, cutting down privet and small trees. My poor hubs has been using a reciprocating saw, which worked, but it has been taking forever. Today I got to missing him, and when he came in the door he said he had been out cutting trees and stacking the wood using this handy little saw! It is definitely strong enough to do those type jobs, and, like a large chainsaw, does require careful attention to what you're doing to prevent injuries. However, it is so easy to handle that you will zip through wood faster than a beaver. We tested it on a log about 5 inches across and it cut through it like a knife through hot butter! He cut for an hour and is still on the first battery, so we can assume that the batteries will have good life. It comes with two batteries that charge really fast, and it even includes an extra chain, gloves, and goggles. This has been one of our favorite finds on Amazon!

These little chainsaws are the coolest little things. They’re so convenient they work really well and easy to just do a little trimming here and there. Nothing big. You must be careful. And it’s pretty powerful works well I recommend.
