This is the first laser measuring tool that I have acquired. I have several dozen tape measures, rulers, measuring wheels, and assorted measuring spools. This laser measuring device can replace almost all of these and do the job better in most cases. The exception is measuring small distances on a flat surface, such as cutting boards to length, measuring papers for art projects, or simple hobby tasks. Over longer distances Or for outdoor use like fencing, laying out gardens, laying out a foundation, or similar tasks, this laser measuring tool beats anything I have ever used. One person can now easily do this in these settings, which usually requires two people. It also works well as a level and angle-measuring device. The trig functions with it make simple work of measuring out trusses and anything involving angles, and it even works well for calculating the height of flag poles and smaller towers. It uses three AAA batteries, which are included. The product description and photos are accurate. It arrived in one day without any issues. I would definitely get this again. ... show more

My husband and I do alot of DIY projects and we always wind up losing our tape measure. We probably have quite a few floating around the house somewhere. We tried this laser measuring tool and are very happy with it. It arrives very quickly and has instructions and even the batteries included! I recommend reading the directions and playing around with it to get familiar before using on a project. The tool itself is pretty easy to use and can be personalized with whatever settings you prefer. The green laser is easy to see and the readings are very accurate. I like that the size is smaller and that it's dust proof and waterproof. I think this could be great with a construction worker, all the way to the average home owner. This works great. It was easy to set up. The instructions are simple, but clear. It is light weight, but not cheap feeling. It is comfortable to hold and small enough to fit in any toolbelt or bag. It seems to give an accurate reading, we tested it against a traditional tape measure and got the same measurements on both. It works for a long time on a single set of batteries.
