Description

This BLAZE™ 100 foot laser measure is a fully featured tool with a brighter graphic display and new user-interface design for easier measuring. The graphic display illuminates numbers with distinct resolution, for work in low- light or no-light conditions, better readability, intuitive icons, big-number mode, and upgraded contrast to make it easier to read. This BOSCH laser measure tool has a user-friendly layout with two-button operation: one for measuring, one for rounding. The rounding button is a unique function that allows the user to easily round the measurement result from 1/2 up to 1/32 inch. It has default real-time measurement mode, immediately providing accurate measurement that automatically adjusts closer to or farther from the target. The laser distance meter features an enhanced user interface, including a click wheel for easy setting and function navigation. Its keypad design includes a standalone recessed measuring button, to make it easy to distinguish just by feel. The grip is slimmer, making it easier to handle. This compact measurer is easy to carry and fits in your pocket. It features full rubber overmold housing to protect every major point, with a design similar to a roll cage. It's great for DIYers working on home improvement projects.

This is a really useful little tool and ended up being one of those purchases I’m very glad I made. I bought it when we purchased a new house and needed to measure rooms before moving in to figure out furniture placement. It worked extremely well for that. You really can’t rely fully on listing measurements, and this made it quick and easy to get accurate numbers without having to move around the previous owner’s furniture. That alone made a big difference. It saved time and also avoided that awkward feeling of trying to shift things around just to measure. The device itself is compact and very easy to figure out. The controls are straightforward, and it works quickly once you get started. I’ve found myself using it regularly for different projects because it’s so convenient. It definitely outperforms a traditional tape measure in many situations, especially when measuring longer distances or full rooms. That said, it doesn’t completely replace a tape measure. There are still times where you need a straight edge or more hands-on measuring for certain tasks. I like it. I ordered this and a few others to test them against each other. The other measuring devices had few too many buttons for way to many functions. It sounded cool at first but once I got the things they were way too complicated. The BOSCH on the other hand is simple. It's only got a couple functions and it works instantly and works like a charm. I was pleasantly surprised by the functionality of the simplicity. If that makes sense. This is easily the best laser measure tool I have used in the past 15 years at this price point. I measure real estate, hundreds of properties a year and have used many different brands of laser measure from inexpensive cheapos to expensive trying to find one that is accurate, reliable and easy to use. This Bosch Blaze GLM 100-23 is the best for the price offering base level measuring with the ability to change the type of measurement from Feet, Inches, MM, CM and others. I was skeptical due to the price but wow this is the one for me and my needs. Very clear and easy to read backlit screen, accurate, easily fits in my pocket, has a place to attach a lanyard which makes it easy to pull out of my pocket. The screen is bright and has a bright laser that I can see in sunlight. I use this laser measure for architectural surveying to create asbuilt floor and ceiling plans. I work alone and use a laser measure and a sturdy 25' measuring tape. For 10 years I had been using a very premium but heavy bricked sized Leica measuring laser, until I met a contractor in the field who had a pocket sized laser like this. I was surprised at how small they were, and in the last couple years, how affordable they were. So I made the jump and purchased a different laser from this one two years ago. However, its battery life was a little sporadic, there were a lot of features I didn’t need, and it could only measure to a 1/16 of an inch, which is more than I need. You could also change the reference point of where the laser measures from (moving it from the rear of the laser to the front). This is not helpful when you can change it without realizing it. So recently I was researching newer lasers, since I was not satisfied and I found this GLM100-23. I spent time comparing it to some of the more expensive Bosch lasers, like the one with the green beam, but eventually decided this one. I measured with it yesterday and was so pleased with it. I love the fact you can adjust the fraction amount to what you need – gone was my mental math to assign a decimal value to 1/16ths of an inch (its faster to write down the decimal than the fraction). The screen showed one measurement at a time, but was so legible! The other laser had a screen that would time out and then it became hard to read. This laser has white numbers against a black screen that doesn’t time out! The laser is so small and lightweight, you can easily hold it and the tablet at the same time. Lastly, the reference point for the laser can’t change, so there’s no way to fudge up the measurements you need. Overall this laser is EXACTLY what I needed. Also, a note: the "click wheel" is an internally displayed menu that allows you to change the measurement option (from feet, to inches, to centimeters, to millimeters, and then feet as displayed 0'-00").
