    • Midwest Industries Combat Rear Flip Sight for AR15 carbine
To start - I am not a professional or competitive sport shooter - I just like practicing my marksmanship with my AR15 carbine. I came across the Midwest Industries Combat Rear Flip Sight on YouTube, and I had to try it. What appealed to me was the custom aperture (sized in between a large and small peep), low profile center line, and that it did not utilize a flip spring-button mechanism (manual flip). I received it quickly from Amazon, and mounting it was a breeze set to 35 in/lbs. I have it paired with a HK fixed front sight (circular guard) so I can align both sight "circles" quickly when aiming. I recommend trying a few pic rail positions more forward when setting the MI Combat rear sight. Moving it forward focused the aperture to my liking. I still have room for magnifier between my RDS and the MI rear sight. It has a mil-spec height so it's a 1/3 co-witness to my Holosun 503. I have very linear tendencies so I thought 1/3 would bug me vs an absolute co-witness, but it's definitely better to have a clearer sight picture and it's not noticeable anymore after you practice with it (don't even have to break a cheek weld). I ran about 200 rounds with it and I found it easier to group bursts that with my RDS MOA ring. My RDS is still more accurate for precision shots, but I was very surprised how the the MI Combat rear helped hold my center line (might be the HK front in combination). PROS: - Strong, satisfying click on the flip detent. Doesn't move around like some flip sights I've tried with spring button mechanisms - SUPER low profile - Mil-spec co-witness height - Easy front sight alignment on quick target engagement on 25 yards and in. I personally shot better groups with this alignment than using my RDS MOA ring. - Steel body construction with a kick stand that rests on upper receiver to prevent over travel - Minimalistic, clean look CONS: - (opinion) The custom aperture is sized in between a small and large peep, so it's not a precision solution. I wanted the MI Combat Rear for 100 yards and in, so I'm hitting everything I want just fine. EASY, fast A Zone groups for 25 yard silhouettes. I have not been to a long range to go out to 200 yards. But, I zeroed at 36 yards, so my groupings by math show that the MI Combat will touch a 12" black. As long as it hits! - I think the steel is phosphate finished, but there does seem to be some oxidation, so you'll need to keep it lightly oiled for protection. The base is aluminum. Final thoughts. I am very satisfied with this purchase. With some many AR accessory options, the focus on quality machining and materials sometimes get lost during the race to get the newest, coolest products to the market. I don't know how long Midwest Industries has been around, but if this product is representative on their design thinking and execution, then I'll look to them for more parts in the future. ... show more

Super low profile and very solid. Quality fit and finish. Don't know why it's titled "Midwest Gloves..." but I can confirm that I ordered this item and received a Midwest Industries product. I like the aperture, simplifies things. Would buy again.

I have nothing negative to say. These disappear when looking through them and act as a diopter sharpening up your vision. 11/10. Price is a bit high but worth it considering everything in competition is much more expensive.
