I have a plumbers torch and this works well with it, it is intermittent at best with my butane torch, and does not work at all with favorite pencil style Mapp gas torch. These are all air/fuel torches. I have not tried it with an oxy/fuel torch but I imagine it would work fine.

I've bought two of these for twice the price from jewelry suppliers. They're not the world's greatest, but I just can't bring myself to pay for the bigger square one.
