Okay I got the torch which came in a nice case and works well but when I opened the case one of the hinges was broken. So I used the torch and a tip to melt the back together which worked. I suggest better quality control during assembly is why 4 stars.

This is a well-built and versatile device. Although a 5-star product, there is room for improvement making this a 6-star item: 1. Add a fuel gauge window. 2. Make the safety lock optional or do away with it completely. IMO, the safety switch is unecessarry and frankly a nuisance because it must be engaged on every ignition attempt (it may take multiple tries to light). The ignition thumb button requires a decent amount of force to depress and extinguishes as soon as it is released. If a child has the strength to depress & HOLD that button and the wherewithal to simultaneously engage the flame lock, then the child would certainly have no problem figuring out the safety switch. The good news is, this switch can be easily removed by removing 5 Phillips head screws, carefully removing the housing, and removing the switch and the associated small spring (see pic). Reinsert the larger spring, align the thumb button into the recess, and reassemble. Regardless, still a great product with many uses. I mainly bought it to heat & soften ½" underground irrigation hose lines for repair using barb fittings. Yes a heat gun can perform the same, but, the convenience of not needing to drag out a 75' extension cord and the small form factor when huddled in a small hole makes this an ideal device. There are certainly cheaper solutions, but the build quality and versatility of this unit sold me. It's excellent and I look forward to trying out the other features it offers. By the way, I have two of these units and burn Zippo (from Amazon) butane in one and Bernzomatic (from Home Depot) in the other. Both burn fine with no issue and produce the same flame output. Neither of these butane products make any mention about the "refined" purity and and I'm a bit of a skeptic re the 3x, 5x, 11x, 99x "refined" no-name products based on some of their reviews. My only advice is to be sure the stem of the butane product correctly fits the torch. In the case of the two products I've used, no adapter is required, although I believe the Bernzomatic provided the best fit and least amount of lost butane during the filling process.

Once I got the hand of how to really fill the torch with fuel, I love it! I have used it a LOT for heat shrink, soldering, and heating and bending plastic pipe and even one metal tube... I've not had to refill it again yet!! The stupid "safety switch" is VERY ANNOYING!!!!! I intend to take it apart and remove that leaver that makes it a two handed lighting tool so it will light when I push the button without having to hold it over to get it to light. It never lights on the first push, so either you have to use two hands to hold the stupid lever in place to push the button more than once or you have to take the time to reset the lever after EVERY push of the light button... I just have not gotten around to doing that yet... Saw a YouTube video on how to do it.

A lot of lying liars in here. They must have spent a fortune on these shills. What it does right, it does well. It's a decent flame that is perfectly what I need, when it doesn't randomly go out for some unknown reason. The tools it comes with and the case? Lovely. the burled handle? Great. It's weight is excellent. Where it is lacking: Do you have 3 hands? because you need 3 hands to use this thing. If you're right handed, you can definitely deactivate the safety and start it with one hand (even though it has never started on the first try since I got it) even though it's not at all conveniently placed. You can definitely get your thumb to the hands free lock... but there is no way you can push that slider while keeping your finger firmly on the trigger without a second hand (I have big, strong hands and I can't do it). As I mentioned above, to fire it, you have to fire it twice, that includes toggling the safety both times. There just is nothing really convenient about operating this thing. Refilling it still doesn't make sense to me, It's like the refill valve is not compatible with any of the cans I have. Yeah, some butane gets in the torch, but most of it is spraying out everywhere. Simply put, I do not feel safe while using it, it is a pain in the you-know-what to use. I really wish I hadn't purchased it and I am still in the market to buy a nice one. If I could remember which influencer led to to this product I would never watch their videos again. It does function as a butane torch.
