So after a year of very serious use we absolutely love this set it is come in handy for more things than we imagined and we use it all the time the quality of the product is lightweight but the devices that you receive and the accessories are very substantial their quality and they do put up with as much as you hope they will when you get it they also look amazing when people see them they look high-end it is easy to use the function's work appropriately I have no problem with the packaging the size and shape we're awesome the quality of all the materials and all of the accessories is awesome. When we go to use it, It heats up quick it's very durable and it's still appears like it's brand new. This device and its accessories are all easy to use it lights very easy it stays lit it's steady and strong flame. Is this device to set your considering and you're on the fence I definitely recommend you going for it and getting yours immediately you won't be disappointed I have 0 complaints after a year.

Highly Recommend. I've been using a butane solder torch for several decades, and this Lexivon one beats the prior brands I've had. Everything about the torch and kit is quality. I did not expect to like the accessories, as I have found tips etc in past products to be garbage but this kit the accessories make the product. I love the catalyst, and deflector shield - not only do I use them for fitting heat shrink tubing but I use them to solder outside in the wind and found them to be GAME CHANGERS for me, not only was soldering productivity FAR faster, but less chance of damaging surrounding items and the heat is far more even and I found I stopped wasting solder, so an economical win too! This is by far the best butane solder iron on the market IMO. I wish that the instructions would clarify that on starting you press the button just enough to get gas to flow and after a half-second then push all the way to light the torch, as attempting to just push the start button in one quick press results in flameouts about half the time. I have 2 cons: (1) I dislike highly that it takes a second hand to engage the trigger/flame lock, if that is possible to be refined to allow one-handed operation it would be perfected! (2) the torch uses far more butane than my older ones, like half again more fuel.

I have owned this for two years and have used it extensively for a range of things. It’s much more versatile than an electric soldering iron and is capable of much higher temperatures for different repairs. In addition to the soldering tips for electronic repairs, I have used it to solder copper flashing and a variety of other uses. Unlike the several other propane soldering kits I bought at the big box stores, this holds plenty of gas, is easily refilled and stays lite outdoors in the wind. All in all a great product at a good price.

This is a good value for the dollar. It comes with multiple attachments for soldering and a very nice hard plastic carry case. I was a little disappointed that there was not an adjustable airflow intake. The black plastic ring on the neck of the torch is NOT an adjustable air intake. When I purchased the torch there was only one picture to look at which showed the ring. It looked just like my torch so i assumed it was. It was the one thing that the other torches did not have. Well neither does this one. The one other issue would be the flame lock slider. You have to use both hands in order to lock the flame on. It is down on the left side inaccessible by any fingers on the right hand since the thumb is what pushes the ignition. They should have stayed with some of the tried and true methods of the lock function, a simple button right next to the ignition. This torch if you decided you want it locked on you need to slide the lock at the same time you ignite or flame won't stay on hands free. These are not big issues. I am still in possession of the torch and have no thoughts of returning it. Has a very nice 2000+ flame, it feels like a tool not a piece of plastic as so many things today often do. As far as safety it utilizes a metal tank(5 Stars for that). I would recommend this to others. I specifically use this one for the kitchen and it does more than fine.. Hope this helps anyone that might of been on the fence.. Remember you get what you pay for...

This thing is great. I used the heat gun attachment most of the time for heat shrink. This thing put down way more hot air than a similar model Bernzomatic that cost twice as much. Very happy with it, but could have done without the safety latch. I am guessing the safety is a big brother gov requirement, but I did remove it by unscrewing the cover at the top and carefully reassembled. It lived in a shop with zero kids around and plenty hazards way worse then a butane torch. Please note I used past tense. Just yesterday the ignition pooped the bed - but it is almost 2 years old now and I used it probably 10 times a day, each for 60 seconds, at about 2 or 3 days per week - so whatever that breaks down to - 30 minutes run time per week. I am pretty sure I beat the snot out of it. The metal and shields got really hot. I am still pretty happy. I am wondering if the excess heat from the hot air attachment cooked part of the ignition system. BUT for $39 I'll just buy another. Luckily I had a backup at home bc I liked it so much I bought one for my personal tool chest. There are other butane heat guns out there (a one red one which I really like, has a flex head, but it's too big and hot for small stuff) but good ones are north of $70 and they don't throw down as much hot air. Again, the Bernzomatic is nice, but it was over twice the price and doesn't throw down a lot of hot air. To heat shrink 2 each 24 AWG wires, it takes 2 to 3 times longer to shrink with the Bernz model. I'd take this product over the Bernz any day. Can't beat it for the price either.

This is a well-built and versatile device. Although a 5-star product, there is room for improvement making this a 6-star item: 1. Add a fuel gauge window. 2. Make the safety lock optional or do away with it completely. IMO, the safety switch is unecessarry and frankly a nuisance because it must be engaged on every ignition attempt (it may take multiple tries to light). The ignition thumb button requires a decent amount of force to depress and extinguishes as soon as it is released. If a child has the strength to depress & HOLD that button and the wherewithal to simultaneously engage the flame lock, then the child would certainly have no problem figuring out the safety switch. The good news is, this switch can be easily removed by removing 5 Phillips head screws, carefully removing the housing, and removing the switch and the associated small spring (see pic). Reinsert the larger spring, align the thumb button into the recess, and reassemble. Regardless, still a great product with many uses. I mainly bought it to heat & soften ½" underground irrigation hose lines for repair using barb fittings. Yes a heat gun can perform the same, but, the convenience of not needing to drag out a 75' extension cord and the small form factor when huddled in a small hole makes this an ideal device. There are certainly cheaper solutions, but the build quality and versatility of this unit sold me. It's excellent and I look forward to trying out the other features it offers. By the way, I have two of these units and burn Zippo (from Amazon) butane in one and Bernzomatic (from Home Depot) in the other. Both burn fine with no issue and produce the same flame output. Neither of these butane products make any mention about the "refined" purity and and I'm a bit of a skeptic re the 3x, 5x, 11x, 99x "refined" no-name products based on some of their reviews. My only advice is to be sure the stem of the butane product correctly fits the torch. In the case of the two products I've used, no adapter is required, although I believe the Bernzomatic provided the best fit and least amount of lost butane during the filling process.

I like this product, but a few things bother me. First off, the flame easily cuts out when used at various angles, which I suspect is due to air flow. There's no instructions as to adjust the air vents should be and they're only adjustable by loosening the plastic nut on the barrel. This puts your hand right by the heat, loosening the plastic nut, trying to move a hot air vent cover, then tightening the nut. Come-on guys! That brings me to the convection piece that converts the flame to heat which is necessary to use the tips. You have to take off that hot cover with the plastic nut, screw on the convention piece and put the cover back on. Then you add the tip you want. Reverse all that and do it again to add a different tip while the cover and tip are hot. Instead of a wrench, perhaps a ceramic socket would be easier and safer to remove and hold the hot tip. All this effort makes this versatile tool difficult to use as intended, so I use it as a dedicated soldering iron and I purchased a dedicated mini torch for when I need an open flame. I also ended up buying a cheap corded soldering iron for when dealing with the tips and flame cutting out becomes too frustrating. My suggestion is to use this for when you truly need a non-corded solution.
