I haven't used it in the field yet just tried it out around the house. I like that it came with a bag and headphones. What I like most is that it breaks down and can fit it into a backpack. It felt comfortable when I tried it out. The read out panel seems very clear which should help on targets.

I bought this item after researching several different models on Amazon. I have now taken it out several times to different locations and have found over $400 in coins and jewelry - not joking here. As others have noted, the pinpointer works really well, so you don't end up digging large holes to find the objects. There are volume adjustments and headphones to help eliminate excessive noise when other people are around while you are detecting. I find that this detector is very sensitive at the highest setting, to the point of being triggered under power lines and as far away as 30+ feet from any metal fencing, but you simply adjust the sensitivity setting to eliminate this. I have been very happy with this detector and would recommend it.

This metal detector works very well and has useful modes. The DISC mode is very useful since it allows the user to eliminate detections that are not of interest to. Unfortunately, the two 9 volt batteries provides only showed 2 bars when installed. Within 5 minutes the battery indicator only showed one bar and started flashing. When tested they both indicated that they should be replaced. Fortunately, I had two new batteries in my battery caddy that showed a full charge when installed. For the price, I would recommend this detector but just be sure to be ready to replace the batteries shortly after the easy assembly and initial operation.
