It's absolutely amazing that these are this good at this price. It's not perfect but it's way better than expected for the low cost. It seems that the only sacrifice is the overall build quality which is relatively cheap, but it's actual functionality as a metal detector seems completely effective. It doesn't seem to false alarm ever, and having control over the sensitivity helps minimize that anyway. The metal discrimination seems to work too, although I tend to leave it with detecting all metals. Its very easy to use as a beginner. It seems mostly sized for adults but it is adjustable and relatively lightweight. The arm brace makes it very controllable and easy to use for long periods. The beeping is loud, even at the lowest volume setting, but being able to attach headphones means it can be used quietly. Since it has a fully functional analog meter, a muted option would have been nice. The included trowel is fine. The multitool functions are silly but don't negatively impact the usefulness. It includes a nylon holster to carry it too. These is a great entry point to the hobby. The instructions are good and the controls are straightforward. I recommend this for the price, definitely.

bought this metal detector to use with my kid and we have had a lot of fun with it. The detector is light enough for children to handle but still feels solid in your hands. The adjustable height means both an adult and a child can use it comfortably without hunching over. The controls are simple and easy to understand, so we were able to start searching for treasure in the yard within a few minutes of taking it out of the box. The little shovel it comes with has been handy for digging up coins and small metal bits we find. We have used it in the backyard and on a local beach and it has picked up plenty of signals. It is not a professional machine, but for the price it is great for casual use and family adventures. The waterproof search coil works fine in shallow wet sand and small puddles, which keeps the fun going even when the ground is damp. If you want an affordable way to get kids outside and exploring, this detector is a good choice.

This is a basic budget friendly metal detector. It includes everything needed to get started, including the two 9v batteries. Assembly was easy and straightforward. The overall construction is surprisingly good given the budget price point. Also included is a nice survival style hand shovel and case for the shovel. The detector is easy to hold with the included arm rest. All the screws and adjustments do not require any tools to assemble or disassemble, a nice touch. In terms of performance, it works fairly well. I found some coins at my local park within minutes of use. In fact, the first thing I found was a coin. That was certainly fun (lucky me). The metal detector works best if it is kept moving in a level and sweeping motion, slowly moving back and forth. To triangulate an object, sweeping quickly back and forth in a narrow area will help find the item. Simply holding it still won't work, it needs to be moving. It is lightweight, so it is easy to control. The internal speaker is very loud and easy to hear. A headphone jack is also included to reduce noise when trying to detect in noise sensitive areas. The sensitivity adjustments on the detector itself seemed to make little difference to me. While I'm sure in some situations they might, I was unable to experience any meaningful impact to the performance of the detector following the included instructions. It just seemed to detect all metal types, no matter what. I appreciate having a simple budget-priced and uncomplicated metal detector. It is suitable for finding keys, coins, or other metal objects dropped in a lawn or park. It may not be the best choice for serious treasure hunters or antique collectors, but for everyday home use it is great.

I got this metal detector to have a new activity to do with my kid outside. There was some assembly required right out of the box, but it wasn't complicated at all. I had it put together and ready to go in just a few minutes. We're having an absolute blast with it. It's lightweight, so it's easy for both me and my kid to handle and walk around with. We've been sweeping it all over the yard, pretending to look for buried booty. So far, I can't retire yet off of our findings, but that's not the point. We've found a few old nails and other bits of metal, and the excitement of hearing it go off is a ton of fun for both of us. This was a great way to get outside and do some exploring together.

I gave this detector a try recently and honestly, it feels very lightweight and a bit flimsy in terms of build quality. The assembly process wasn’t as clear as I’d hoped (the instructions could definitely use improvement). The controls don’t feel totally intuitive, and I ended up spending extra time poring over the manual. Even after that, I’m still not 100% confident I’m using it correctly as it easily detects some things and totally misses others (again, this could be operator error). The included shovel is a nice bonus and almost feels as if this is a higher quality item than what it is included to be That said, it’s a very basic unit. I think it’s probably best suited for kids or someone just getting into metal detecting and wanting to test out the hobby before investing in something pricier. Still, for what it costs, it’s tough to beat. There are definitely more positives than negatives, so if you’re just looking for something simple or a starter, you could do a lot worse for the price.
