I am many years from that little boy who goes into his backyard searching for buried treasures, now in my senior years that little boy energy and desire to find buried treasures still exist so not to confuse anyone this CEED4U High Accuracy Waterproof 11-inch IP68 Coil Metal Detector with its Large LCD Display and Five Search Modes and New Advanced DSP Chip (for Gold Detecting) happens to be the play-tool that replaces that plastic bucket and hand shovel I used for many of summers as a child of innocence. Long gone are the envisions of sonar detection requiring sophisticated heavy expensive equipment, this Metal Detector is revolutionary in that it is light weight construction and design and driven by an inexpensive DSP (Digital Signal Processor) chip that may not cost much but still has advanced technology that consumers have now known to except and work with. The intelligent control box and the large 4.2-inch X 2.2-inch LCD (Liquid-Crystal Display) display is one of the star features of this detector – it provides the brains that control operation and clear crystal vision of what all is going on during one’s search for that treasure buried beneath the earth surface. The five specialty search modes assist with finding exactly what one would like to be searching for during a treasure hunt – ZERO (All Types of Metals), JEWELRY (Locate Most Jewelry Items), SNIFF (Detects Memorized Metals Only), DISC (Eliminates Unwanted Metals), and PP (Pinpoint the Target). The 11-Inch Waterproof Coil is an advancement that allows one to search deeper and faster than most detectors at this price range. I like the fact that I can use this detector on the beaches where I live in the States and Central America. Setting up this lightweight compacted designed treasure detector takes only minutes to complete to a full-size detection tool. Included with the metal detector one gets a respectable and well-built tactical digging shovel and carry pouch that one can affix to a belt loop or backpack. Cheap over the ear headphones also come with this kit. However, I would do as I have and replace them with a better fitting headphone that is comfortable and has a manual volume setting that one can adjust to preference. A nice added feature is the carry bag (included) that will keep all one’s Metal Detector Gear together and safe during transport and/or storage. I will admit there is a quick learning curve in managing the particulars but the enjoyment of being outdoors and feeling that little boy urge once again while I use this Metal Detector searching for mystery treasures has been time and money well spent! ... show more

    • Easy to assemble decent entry level metal detector.
The unit was easily assembled by following the included instructions. The only small issue I took with it was the battery box for the two included 9-Volt Alkaline batteries which with their pigtails of wire attached makes it difficult to get them inserted all of the way and get the battery box closed flush. I used this on all modes and was able to find things such as change and even 1" panelling nails (brads). Overall the unit works about as well as I would expect for an entry level detector. It comes with a backpack and a small packed little shovel for digging up detected items. It is not too heavy so it can be used for a good amount of time before getting fatigued. - That is if you are moving it properly across your surface with the coil completely parallel to the ground throughout your sweeps. - This is very important with ALL detectors... The thing(s) I take issue with are the display while touted as a thing that will help in your search, to identify exactly what sort of thing you are detecting, it varies widely. The only thing that gets solid hits everytime is for ferrous metals like steel/iron which is not what one is generally looking for (save steel pennies...) I was excited about the Pin Point feature to help you home in exactly where something is and found it to be underwhelming at doing so. I was not impressed with this feature which should have been one of the things that makes this detector shine. Overall, it is a decent detector. It found everything I could find to burry, just not signalling well enough to make the spot to dig as easily determined as I wished/expected. I would not hesitate recommending this to someone as their first experience with detectors especially because of its shortcomings as a much more expensive higher quality unit works so much better that time spent practicing with this one will prepare one for a much more sensitive model and they will know all about false positives and pinpointing (without the PP - Pin-Point feature engaged). All and all, for the price, this unit lives up to what I expected out of a cheap detector. I have in past used high dollar detectors that are much more accurate than this unit is. But all of that practice if you are serious about the hobby should prepare you to step up to the big leagues with a much more expensive and precise unit. ... show more

I was super excited because this seems very advanced and easy to understand hiw to determine metal types and depth based on manual. In addition how to hold the detector as to not get false results (such as swinging in am arc may cause false results). There is a PP (PIN POINT) function, which would be great but it's ineffective. I searched my yard and found multiple results ranging anywhere from cheap metal to high value and ranges from 2-6" deep. I picked an area where results were 2-4" deep and used the pin point feature. I dug deep and a much larger area than anticipated, finding absolutely nothing. I even ran the detector over the dirt I dug out and the results were gone. Super disappointed. Tried again with a spade and same spade was spitting readings from the 20s to 90s and the pinpoint feature didn't even work. ... show more

Good quality. Functional. It is lightweight and comfortable to hold for long periods. It is easy to read the screen and know what you're doing. This was my first time metal detecting.
