We recently had some remodeling done and noted contractor was not so great about debris, in particular was sharps- nails, staples and the like. These are all metal and in a gravel driveway and deep grass hard to find. Wanting to prevent injury and damage we needed a way to locate and remove these things. What better way than a metal detector? An added benefit we could also locate our buried missing metal lot stakes and find miscellaneous buried wires and such so then was the old internet search and Amazon. Bit of looking and decided on this model. Thought for money best bang for buck. Needed to be fairly loud, easy to use and not leave us going “what, you need to buy this extra item to use it still?” Complete kit, even the 9volt battery’s are included. Never used one before but directions made it easy to put together, took maybe 15 mins and that was going slow and double checking as you went. Powered up, display was good size font and easy to understand especially for a total newbie to one of these. Found default settings fine, upped the volume and started a sweep of driveway. It uses different pitched tones depending on metal located. Kinda confusing at first. Also when near the sliding patio door that metal frame will trigger it so was not able to use with in say 6” of the frame and door. Once you sweep back and forth and tone seemed to repeat I hit the “zoom/narrow down my target button” as I call it. The button is in the middle bottom row, target lock. Very cool, constant tone when you basically right over it. Found many nails and staples and even a few screw driver bits lost long ago. Located my property stakes too with ease. I’d say worthy purchase, doing everything we need and seems capable of more and no extras needed. Plenty loud on the speaker, has headphones but never used. Can not think of any real complaints then again never had one prior and no clue what Im missing out on but for home use this works great.

Didn't like gnats attacking lol . Check for items at two different campgrounds and 2 different state parks . Can't retire on yhe value of what we found buy fun interesting net some great people. Found one set of car keys which made for a happy man. And one set of camper keys which Madera hsppy camper

Bought it to try and find a list tool in a horse pasture. It found the tool buried several inches down in just a few minutes. Well worth the cost in light of a possible vet bill if a horse had stepped on the tool.

We recently purchased a lot of land and have been working on clearing it out for a workshop. Rumors around town were that the prior owners had buried plenty of metal parts there many years ago, including several entire Cadillacs. I bought this just to keep myself busy while my husband runs the excavator, not really expecting to find much. I didn’t want to spend a lot so I didn’t have high expectations. No Cadillacs were found (yet!), but I was still able to locate quite a few buried metal pieces that we’ve been collecting for the scrap yard. You have to play with the modes and sensitivity to get the most accurate readings. I had it set on all metals, with a medium sensitivity and it was going off constantly for false alarms. I found the disc mode, with the first option removed, and a medium sensitivity helped filter a lot of these false alarms out. I like how it shows a reading number and an approximate depth. I ended up finding an old oil tank, this heavy thing, and a lot of misc. sheets of metal and car parts buried under the surface. I would mark the surface when it pinged with both a high number and a deeper depth for my husband to dig with the machine - anything that was 2-4” was questionable so I didn’t really bother, but anything that had the high number and 6 or more inches ended up being something. For the price I think it does a decent job for someone just having fun with no experience or strategy!

It's very easy to put together and use but it goes through batteries very fast. I used it for an hour the 1st day and went through the 1st two batteries that came with it and used it the 2nd day for about the same time and it's down to one bar left on the second set of batteries. It is very reasonably priced and shipped fast.
