This product has been highly effective for us. We have a 13 yo dog that has Pica; an eating disorder in which a person/animal has a compulsion to eat things other than food. Jenny is obsessed with small fabrics and if the opportunity exists, will eat socks, dish cloths, napkins, the corners off blankets, etc. Definitely a health hazard and so disgusting when she pukes them back up. Thankfully we have not had to have any surgeries to remove anything. She seems to get worse as she ages. At wits end, I ordered one of these gadgets. THIS PRODUCT WORKS! We initially only had one on the laundry room door to test it out. Access is still easy for us, impossible for her. I have ordered more for the bedrooms since this worked so well for us. I definitely recommend if you need to keep a dog out of an area.

I am a bit handy so for me it was easy to install. I love that I can move the "arm" out of the way when it isn't needed. It is easy to open and prop close the door while the device is in use. It is sturdy enough to keep my large dog away from my cat. The only drawback is that the strike plate is not curved. Therefore, then the propping "arm" is not in use the door knob must be turned to close the door or it will bounce off of the strike plate. This doesn't happen with the arm extended and doesn't impact the function of the device it just takes some getting used to the difference.

The media could not be loaded. I picked this product up for a friend of mine that fosters cats and dogs. It really gets the job done! It’s very easy to install with just a few screws and you only need a single Phillips head screwdriver in order to fully assemble all the hardware. It took me less than 6 minutes to completely set this up on my own door. The best part is, you can use it with only one hand! Any pet owner knows how important that can be when trying to wrangle your favorite fur babies into a room. I looked around at multiple other options before choosing the Pawmee brand and I found that many of the others were made of fabric straps or plastic. That’s not very durable against larger pets. The Pawmee version is made of light weight metal pieces that won’t easily break like other plastic versions. My one piece of advice is to make sure you don’t torque down too hard on the smaller screws because they can strip. Overall, this was a very affordable and well made product, shipping was fast and installation was a breeze. Great job guys!

Wow! Received this product today and 30 mins later I had it installed in the doorway of my laundry room. I have 3 cats and I have the covered litterbox in this room. Looks like a piece of furniture. But my dog insists on going in that room and sticking his nose thru the entrance to see what’s cooking. When he comes out he often has litter all over his nose! So I got on Amazon and typed in device to keep dog out of litter and this gadget came up. There were others but I liked the fact that this was made of metal while others were plastic. This works great! And I could put it together myself with only the help of a screwdriver. Give it a try if you have the same problem I had. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!!!!

This is a nice little addition to the bedroom. It keeps the door propped open just enough for a cat to get in and out but doesn't leave the door wide open. This helps keep the room cool when the AC is going but the cats can still go in and out. No more meowing cats! The nicest feature is that it folds out of the way when not in use. Install is a snap, remove your door latch plate and replace it with the door stopper. Done in less than a minute. It's all metal construction is nice and it's flexible enough that you can easily open open and close the door.
