I’ve tried the rowing machine at the gym a few times but hated the feeling of always being watched so I looked for a home device. I love the Merach. I am 5’4” and 130 lbs so I don’t need a massive machine that takes up a ton of space. The device is quiet and smooth. It took my friend 20 minutes to put it together (not my thing but it appeared simple to assemble). It looks sleek but feels sturdy. I’ve used the device almost daily for two weeks. I got the electric-adjust self powered magnetic rower with 16 levels. I am a beginner but like nice things and would have been willing to pay a few thousand for a rower. But, I am glad I took a chance and got this device. It’s been great and worth the money.

My wife is the one that uses the rower the most so this review is on her behalf. This is the second rower we’ve owned, the previous one was a water rower that we had for ~13 years but we used it very sporadically over the years. It finally broke and we bought this rower about a year and a half ago to replace it since my wife was working out from home now. The rower has been pretty good for her needs. She’s not an avid rower but for the past 6 months she’s been rowing more consistently. Compared to the water rower she really likes that you can adjust the resistance and I personally like that we don’t need the chlorine tabs. The only issue we’ve had so far is that it ran out of power in October last year and it couldn’t be turned on. My wife contacted the support team from their website and she was given instructions on how to power it. You will need to have a power cord to plug it to an outlet since it doesn’t come with it - not a USB one but one of the round ones (12V AC adapter). Once she charged it was back to normal and working fine ever since. We still don’t understand why this happened since it’s supposed to be rechargeable. In summary my wife is happy with the rower and besides that issue everything has worked fine and she prefers it to the water one.

This rower is sturdy and functions very well. Operation is smooth and very quiet. No problem hearing TV while rowing. The rower is fairly compact, so no space problem. Seat and handles are comfortable. I am 6’2” and 200 lbs, and it works well for me. The display is adequate for my purposes, so I have not used the app. Assembly was pretty easy. The rower is easy to reposition or store upright. I am happy with the rower, especially at this price point.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Dead on arrival. Can’t adjust resistance level due to error “E01” and there doesn’t appear to be a way to reset the system. Not to mention the packaging was horrible and literally had to shred everything in order to get all the parts out, making a return in the original packaging impossible. UPDATE: Support was incredibly responsive and replaced the unit without quickly and without issue. The new unit is working just fine and is a great machine so far! I've adjusted the rating to a five given the overall experience. Sure there was a hiccup in receiving a defective unit, but they were so quick to resolve the issue, I really can't fault them for something that probably was caused by shipping. Thanks, Merach!

My review includes the product and the customer service experience. The first product I received immediately threw out the E01 error. I contacted support and after the troubleshooting steps didn’t fix the problem, they sent me a full replacement within a couple of days. I wasn’t asked to ship anything back which is really nice since it’s always difficult to disassemble large items and even more difficult trying to fit them back into their original boxes. The item itself is nice. Great beginner rower. The levels of difficulty have a great variety. I think this will serve me for a while before I choose to upgrade. It’s quiet. It feels like a quality rower. Happy with it. I wouldn’t hesitate trying it out.

Pros: Easy to assemble, Quiet, Easy to move, Easy to use, doesnt need to be plugged in, can connect to apps. Cons: Foot Pedals being loose is a poor design choice. Can't make a full row because the base is too close to your return position (I'm kind of short so its a design issue, not a height issue). If youre over 6ft this would probably be too short and the max resistance too weak. For an average guy the max resistance might be a little low.
