If the pipe is too large, the snake might twist and become ineffective. No, outdoor pipes usually have a larger diameter and contain more debris. Therefore, it is advisable to use drain snakes with a diameter of 3/8 or 1/2 inches for such applications. Uncoil the snake outdoors and clean it using a brush and cloths. The snake is galvanized and protected against rust. However, to extend its lifespan, you can apply oil or rust protection spray after use. Yes, this is absolutely possible. However, we recommend creating direct access to the pipe whenever possible. This makes handling much easier, especially when you need to insert the snake several meters into the pipe. The snake has a diameter of 1/4 inches. The snake head has a diameter of 1/2 inches. Before purchasing, make sure that the drain opening allows the snake to be inserted. Broken within 5-minutes. Original review: The shaft separated from the product and was no longer spinning the snake spring. Please see picture. I really needed this product to work but instead it broke. I will have to look for another product or probably rent a professional drain snake. Disappointed in the product. Follow up: I submitted a return / refund request and was given a full refund and instructed to NOT return the product. While I would have preferred the product to work as expected, this company shows integrity and customer service integrity. For this reason, I give them hight marks as a company. Final Update: Could not find a 50' under 1/2" so I bought this product again and everything worked as expected. Put ~48' into the pipe as per instructions and the waste line off the kitchen sink is no longer clogged. Cable was easily placed back into the container and ready when / if I need to unclog drains of any type. So thankful I gave this company a 2nd chance 👍

Not happy with purchase. Instead of making it out of all metal, they make the part that you connect your drill to out of plastic. It came apart 3 the time's while I was using it. Not to mention the scene you use to tighten the snake makes it hard to operate. I ended up buying a new snake at Home-D----, which worked great.

My kitchen drain blocked and for 3 weeks i tried clearing it myself, rather than paying $400 for plumber (expensive in our area). Bought 25feet drain auger from Home Depot it kinks easily, got 33 feet drain auger from Amazon, too short and the snake was flimsy, also kinks easily. Rented heavy duty 75 feet drain auger from Home Depot, drain head too big to negotiate traps in the kitchen drain, this is more suited for bigger 3 inches sewer drains. The MEISTERFAKTUR drain auger is longer at 50 feet, most importantly the snake is made of stronger galvanized steel and well wound, it did NOT kinked the 2 times i used it. Drain cleared!! after using all the 50 feet. Caveat The snake lock can easily fall into the drain if not tightened well, mine did. I will suggest to the manufacturer to put a stopper in front of the lock to prevent this mishap. I still give it 5 stars because all other drain augers are miserable, and thank you Amazon for easy return.

I purchased this Meisterfaktur 25 ft. snake, model #MF-DS9-25, to clear a kitchen sink drain that Liquid Plummer, nor our old snake nor a water pressure Drain King-like (water pressure type "thingy") wouldn't clear. So after wasting a few days playing around with those... AMZN Logistics "had a problem" and it took a couple days longer than it was originally suppose to get delivered. Thank you! Love having no water in my kitchen. When this finally arrived, it wasn't long enough! My brother did say it was "pretty slick. It was easy to use but just wasn't long enough." He fed it out all the way to the end but didn't encounter the clog/blockage. He also said he fed it out by hand, that that was faster & easier. He'd already told me, while we were waiting for it to arrive, he was afraid to use his drill to power it because these are old plastic pipes that aren't code any longer (not PVC) and he was afraid he might break the pipe, creating a real mess & expensive to get fixed. So here I am, 3-4 days later, back to buy another one --same model # since he really like the 25 ft one, but in the 50 ft length. Now another wait and minimum 2-3 more days without water. By the time this clog is cleared, I'll have gone a full week without running water in my kitchen. At this point, I'm not sure I think the money--hopefully-- I'm saving by not calling a plumber is worth it. I say hopefully because it will be another 2-3 days to find out if the 50ft one will work. If not, I'll have to call a plumber anyway! I gave the 25 ft. 4 stars because it took so long to get here.

yay! drain cleared! I was worried after reading some of the negative reviews (mostly quality control from Amazon) but it seemed as though the positive outweighed them. So I have been trying to clear a kitchen drain which I have a 25 ft auger. Of course the clog is past that point. This drain clogs twice a year and instead of saw cutting my floor to fix the low slope point I usually stick a hose into drain cleanout and try to flush. Well didn't work this year ugh so I thought for way less than 1/2 a plumbers house call which in my area is $135 to $180 I would try this. So ecstatic. It was super easy and I did not even have to use the drill. Mind you this is only 1/4 inch cable so I was super slow and careful putting it in and when feeling an obstruction I then would crank about 10 turns clockwise and then again 10 counter clockwise. My thought being it would keep this cable from kinking. I used almost all 50 ft of it. whew At the 49 ft 11in mark I noticed the cable coming out had 2 bends in it (showing it was the end??) and decided I would not go further with out possibly breaking this so pulled it out and viola, drain cleared! The hardest part was trying to get the cable where those bends were back into the case. I was gentle (key word) and then the rest easily manually pulls back. This would not be good for roots or anything like that as the cable is way too small and not for commercial use. Only had the one head that was permanently attached so you can't lose it in your pipe. Plus it is super light weight and came in a bag for storage w/ gloves. Perfect for what I needed it for and took less then 10 mins. Can't wait to try on shower and bathtub with hair clogs. I will update when I do.

Had a 25 footer that couldn't reach to clear the line I had an 1 1/8" kitchen sink drain line Was cooking grease clogged. After using enzymes for a couple of day wasn't much better. With this 50 footer and my cordless drill I was able to pass this size snake pass multiple 90° elbows and reached to the larger 2 1/2 " drain line. It was easy to handle and the ability to feed the snake with the drill attach went well. After the first pass and removing the snake the end was filled with while cooking grease that should never been put down any drain. Quickly I add 16 Oz of enzyme and water mix into the line and commenced routing out a path for enzymes to mix with the grease and,start converting solid grease to a thick liquid. After15 minute I let it rest . I had some flow so let it stand several hour added more enzymes let it set overnight. BTW I knew the,snake alone wouldn't clear the line . Had it been more solids the tool would do the job. The next day after getting several feet of snake in the line I put the garden hose in the clean out and turned the water and,ran the,snake. Water backed up and I cycled the,snake forward and back once there was a good punch through and,the water was draining I knew the enzymes where doing their thing. With a,reasonable flow I left the snake I place added more enzyme solution and let it work. 4hours later I ran the snake and you could feel it rubbing the pipe. After flushing the line again with the garden hose for 20 minutes. I was confident this tool was worth the price. Long story for sure hope it helps.
