I've repurchased this for all our bathrooms. Personally think the swing top is the best kind of trash can and mDesign delivered with this one. It was a bit of a search to find a suitable & aesthetic trash can... and we found it! The bamboo lid is sturdy and overall good quality.

These are low quality. I was very excited to have this for a bathroom trash can but when I opened the box, I found the plastic nub that holds the lid had broken off and was sitting in the bottom of the can. The lid won’t stay up without it. I tried gluing it back but it broke off again. Contacted the company who offered a 10% refund ($2) or said I needed to ship it back for a full refund or replacement. I chose not to ship it back as I live outside the US and it would cost more to in shipping costs than the bin is worth. Such a shame it’s so poorly made that one tiny piece makes the lid useless. Fits great in our tiny space. The design is clever, the bin and shiny lid are all plastic and a little cheap looking, would love this with nicer materials. If, like me, you like to have a bag in your trash bin you'll need to get creative (I use a paper bag that I fold down to fit). There is a weight in the lid that is required for the lid to snap closed -- the adhesive wasn't holding it in weight in place so it kept falling into the trash and was nearly tossed out. It's pretty easy to miss. A bit of superglue fixed that and there have been no issues since. When you first get this trash bin you may want to pull out the weight and supergluing it back into place. ... show more

The top is all scratched. I purchase the white garbage cam with silver lid. The silver lid is shone and it is so scratched up there is no way whomever packaged it did not notice. Extremely annoying and disappointing.
