Filled this up with Anime, TV and Movies, got about 60gigs left and it's been about a month. It's doin the thing well, I'm happy with it. The plastic on the edges does seem fragile, but I could care less about that. Only gripe is that it ends up only being 465gb to use. Edit: it's now Feb 25th, almost half a year of use, I've removed and added plenty, it's put through daily almost all day every day use and I have yet to have an issue, plan on getting a second 1tb and just keeping this one for just anime, great buy and a great price! Definitely been recommending this to people. Edit: it's now August 26th, I have noticed some videos not playing like they used to, this may be due to getting a second one and having them both plugged in and running and the same time (my laptop isn't the best) other than that all files are still there, they still play (though some Mkv files seem to have more artifacts, this could just be my laptop though) Feb 14th 2020, final edit: still works fine, no complaints. ... show more

The drive works great and couldn't be easier to use. Plug and play does all the setup for you so it pretty much works right out of the box! At just under 5" x 3.75", the drive is pocket-sized making it easy to take with you anywhere. Some reviewers are complaining that the drive stopped working after it was dropped... This is the case with any hard disk drive. My experience with using the drive I was sent has been great. Good transfer speeds, quick setup, and very reliable. Definitely recommend! ... show more

It was worth it. I waited a while before I wrote this review because I wanted to give the product some time possibly have any malfunction. I use this on a HP stream 14. It works pretty good. I needed a simple external hard drive so I shopped around and choose this one. It's serving it's purpose. I had an issue at first because it kept disconnecting after 10 minutes and I was able to fix the issue by changing the hard drive sleep setting on advance battery option. It works exactly for what i need it for. I store all my college video projects and music on this device, i had 3 other devices of 250GB but i ran out of storage on all three of them, this is exactly what i needed. I stored all my data from the usbs onto this device and to my suprise it works on my Acer Chromebook 15 and my PS4 with ease. When first ordering i see so many bad reviews so i just chanced it, but so far i haven't experienced any of the problems listed within the reviews ,but i better knock on wood because ive only had it for two days now and they're using different setups than what i'm using. I bought this to store photos, videos, and word documents off my laptop, with the intent of also using it to transfer those items when I purchased a new laptop which I knew would happen soon. It has served that purpose very well so far. Everything uploaded quickly (even on my old laptop which was running windows 7) and the storage capacity was about perfect for me. I do think the USB port is a little large, it seems kind of sticky, like it's a tight fit when I put it in, but it still works so I guess it's fine. I don't know much on the longevity of it, as I only got it a few weeks ago, but it transferred my files to my new laptop easily! ... show more

Bought this as a replacement for my hard-drive I use with Time Machine on my iMac for backup. Got a new iMac which does not have Firewire connectors, so the old one was USB 2.0. I was hoping the transfer rates for USB 3.0 Would be the ten times faster, as advertised. My first backup was 300 MB and took about two hours to complete. It did so without issues, but the transfer rates were awfully slow at times. This might not necessarily be the drive itself, but it was slower than I expected. When I got it, I plugged it in to the iMac and Time Machine gave a message saying it needed to be erased and reformatted. That took about two minutes, which was the extent of the setup required for my iMac. It is really quiet and smaller than my previous portable hard drive. This is the worst product I have ever used, it crashed and will not let me repair the drive, I cannot get any of my files off of it they are now on it which is practically my entire computers worth of photos and documents. The company won’t contact me, I can’t return it. Very unhappy! Do not buy this! ... show more
