  • A Simple, Effective Cardio Machine
Model: MXC 2.0.
This is a great piece of workout equipment, perfect for me. I love that it has no electric parts to fuss with, and it was easy to assemble and start using. Even though it only has one resistance level, body weight is really all I need. It feels like climbing a pretty steep mountain, definitely strenuous, but without worrying about slipping or losing balance. A solid 20–30 minutes is plenty, and I find it way more intense than a treadmill or rowing machine. Fantastic cardio workout. If anyone’s worried about impact on ankles or knees, it’s actually very minimal (definitely gentler than a treadmill). Just try not to stomp too hard or hit the bottom of the machine. after a couple of sessions you get the hang of it. Noise level is acceptable to me. I can listen to a podcast on my phone without headphones and have no issues hearing it clearly. Great for a quick workout rain or shine without leaving the house. I’ve only used it for a few days, so I can’t speak to long-term durability, but since there are no electronic parts, I’m pretty confident it’ll last or it'll be easier to fix. If you’re looking to build lower-body muscles, this probably isn’t the machine. but for cardio and leg strength, it’s excellent. Five stars! ... show more

  • Great workout
Model: MXC 2.0.
PLEASE NOTE: Review updated to reflect excellent quality of customer service (see last paragraph). Putting the Maxi Climber together was a task--it took longer than it might usually have because some of the nuts and bolts were not attached to the machine, and I had to dig around the box to find them. That was irritating, but once I found everything, I completed construction in a few minutes. Make sure all the pieces listed in the handbook are included; there is also a DVD. The machine comes with a little wrench that allows you to screw on the bolts. You need to attach the feet very tightly. One of the most crucial pieces is the pin with a ring on it that holds the machine together with the bar at the base, and then to keep it closed when you fold it and put it away. Without that piece, you might as well return the machine. Always secure that pin and check all the screws for tightness before exercising. Another caution mentioned by another reviewer: you need to look out or you might bump a ceiling fan with the handlebars, which are quite long, so place your machine accordingly. It takes up very little space, and I love how easy it is to put away. This would fit in the smallest room or apartment. Once I had the machine put together, I decided to give it a try. Since I'm not in the greatest condition (I broke my ankle and foot in summer 2013, was bedridden for 3 months and limped for six more), I held onto the stationary bars above the timer and very cautiously put my feet on the steps before grasping the sliding bars. Everything held firm, and the machine seems very stable. The instructions warn you not to lean forward while moving. The isometric motion is amazing, working your arms against your legs. It didn't hurt my joints at all, and it actually helped my spine. Within five minutes I had already worked up a major sweat. My arms, legs, and abs are still burning as I type this. I am optimistic that this thing might actually help me get back into shape! Even if the Maxi Climber eventually breaks down after a few months, it's worth trying for $249.00, as opposed to $3000.00 for a massive tread-climber that might be next to impossible to return. Amazon has an excellent return policy, so I felt confident when buying it that, if it didn't work out, I could send it back. So, KEEP ALL YOUR PACKAGING! You may need it. One caveat: the components, while reasonably heavy, are rather thin, so I suggest you have your significant other or a friend spot you during your first workout. The maximum weight it claims to hold is 240 lbs. I will update my progress as time goes by, but I am pleased today. *UPDATE: Innova responded to my poor packaging review (separate from product review) and they made everything right. Their customer service department is very polite and will work to make certain that you are happy with your Maxi-Climber--just ask! In light of that, they get five stars for great service. I feel satisfied now that this machine will last me for a long time. ... show more

  • Great product, not really designed for tall guys though
Model: MXC 2.0.
Okay set up was a breeze only took maybe five mins to install. It was a long and lazy winter so I was pretty out of shape the first few times I used this. It really kicks your butt. I'm 6'2 250 pounds. I'd say anyone taller might have a problem properly using this machine. Even at max length I can't fully extend my reach on my reps. That being said, its still a great workout, I live in an upstairs apartment, and this was a little noisy upstairs, so we keep it downstairs near our door. This is very compact so you can easily workout in tight spaces, so downstairs it works great for us and isn't noisy on ground level. First time using this I set a timer to do 20 mins, after ten mins, my arms, legs and abs were burning so bad I had to stop. Heart rate was great, nice an sweaty, it was like jello trying to get back up the stairs. :) Instead of timing my workout with this, I count. I started doing 3 sets of 100, and then slowly went up from there, doing this every other day (along with other workouts) Noticing my legs and arms gaining strength after a couple weeks of use. I'm now up to one set of 200, and two of 150. I'm sure in a couple weeks I'll be able to stop counting and start doing it nonstop for twenty to thirty mins (thats my current goal). All in all I'd say we are happy with our purchase, my girlfriend is a lot smaller and shorter than me and she loves it. I'd love it if it extended a couple more inches up and down, but even though I can't fully extend it still gives me an awesome workout. Combined with a homemade ab wheel, perfect pushup, and pushing two kids in a double stroller, its a great workout that lets me skip the gym membership. ... show more

  • Real User Experience – 5 Stars! Real User Experience – 5 Stars!
Model: MXC 2.0.
When I was 15, I used to have a MaxiClimber and absolutely loved it. It helped me stay in shape and feel good about myself. Unfortunately, my dad gave it away, and after that, I stopped exercising consistently. Fast forward to now—I'm 20 and felt like I had gained too much weight, so I decided to buy the MaxiClimber 2.0 again. Honestly, it’s just like I remember! The quality is still great, and it gives me that same intense full-body workout. The only difference I noticed is that the older version I had came with a calorie watch, and this one didn’t—but honestly, that doesn’t really matter to me. It was super easy to assemble, took me about 15 minutes. One thing I highly recommend: add some machine oil to the roller glide where it goes up and down. Mine got really stiff and started to smell a bit burnt and even got scratched before I oiled it. After oiling, it worked much smoother. The workout is no joke. I suggest starting slow—maybe 10 minutes at a time—because the next day, you’re definitely going to feel it. I was sore in my glutes, inner and outer thighs, arms, and even around my ribs. But that’s a sign it’s working, especially if you’re just getting back into fitness like me. Overall, I love it. It’s compact, easy to store, low-impact on the joints, and works your entire body. Can’t wait to see my progress and build my stamina again! ... show more

  • AWESOME WORKOUT MACHINE!!!! (Additional Edit)
Model: MXC 2.0.
Just received mine today. A snap to put together. For the money, I am really impressed by the quality. This should last a long time. I started using it right away, and I can tell you honestly that this will give you a major workout. For me, I do have to take it slow at first because of my age and knees, but I feel that over time it will be a huge benefit for me. I love cycling, and lately I have been having difficulty, and with the help of the MaxiClimber, I will be in better shape to tackle the roads. My wife absolutely loves it. She does a lot of walking and climbing stairs at work, and now she can stop the stair climbing. I have been asking her to stop, or at least go with someone, because one never knows who might be lurking in the stair well. Do I recommend it? You bet I do. If you are wanting a great workout, this is the machine to use. Saves a lot of money and time going to a gym. Edit: WARNING!!! Be careful not to lean back too far. It won't take long to get used to using the MaxiClimber, but PLEASE be mindful that it can tip backwards if you are not careful. Both my wife and I tipped it backwards when we first started out. We are OK now with it, but not being used to it, it tipped a bit for us in the onset. If you use it properly, it will be fine. We obviously didn't. So be mindful of that when you use it, especially in the beginning. It was just user error on our part. It doesn't affect my rating, as I feel it is an excellent work out machine. Just make sure you use it like the manufacturer intended. Additional Edit: Remove the plastic housing on the front. I have found that because it curves outward, it impedes the normal movement of the legs. As your legs go in the upward direct, they hit or rub against the plastic housing forcing you to move your legs outwards and not straight up and down they way they should. Because of this, I have had some issues where I needed massages. After removing the housing, my legs now go up and down straight the way they are intended. Whether this may be an issue for you or not, just watch out for it, because it was a problem for me. If you take a look at the Conquer Vertical Climber, you will know what I mean. It doesn't have a plastic housing and as you will see, your legs will go up and down properly. ... show more

  • A Bit Loud and Shaky
Model: MXC 2.0.
I live upstairs, and the loud wobble disturbed the people downstairs. I got this one over a more aesthetic one because a review said that one was loud, but so is this one, unfortunately. If noise is not an issue, it was easy to assemble, and seems like it would provide a great workout. It was lighter than expected, so I was able to carry it upstairs without a struggle. It's really tall and touched the fan. ... show more

  • MaxiClimber Works Wonders, Lost Three Pounds in Five Days/ Buy with confidence/ Great support & they have FaceBook Page Too
Model: MXC 2.0.
If this review helps in any way Positive or Negative Please hit HELPFUL!!! It will help encourage me to continue my real reviews of products I've purchased. MaxiClimber Review: Pros: * Automatically records your use of MaxiClimber * GREAT CUSTOMER SUPPORT I've contacted several times for hand holding before purchase * MaxiClimber has Applications for 21 day challenge iPhone and Android (Would not load on my iPod as claims has to be sixth generation) * Great smoothie recipes... Have not tried them, but using them have come up with some of my own. Interesting concept * Used five days and have already lost three pounds * Smooth action with cable and pulley for climber * Sturdy well built. Has both exercise and storage positions that lock in place with the use of a sturdy stainless steel push rod. * Lightweight under 35 pounds making it easy to move. Cons: * Can damage rollers if improperly using machine Okay I saw a lot of videos on YouTube featuring this machine. I've used a VersaClimber machine in the past at the spa. Even those machines can have troubles with friction. For the most part I think MaxiClimber has the friction problem minimized the best they can. Also was considering a VersaClimber but they are ten times the expense, a whole lot larger, and still need maintenance. All machines need to be maintained properly to continue smooth operation. Now if you really want to loose weight and still watch TV. Just put this in front of your TV and use your MaxiClimber while watching the tube.... Your brain may turn to mush, as mine already has, but your body will get toned up in no time. Lastly get at a minimum a vinyl carpet runner 28” x 60” to protect your floor or carpet from all the sweat that will be pouring off your body. Thank you for reading my review: Again Please give this review a thumbs up. It is real. I've been on Amazon as a customer for over twenty years. I don't get compensated for my reviews. (Not that I wouldn't like to be.) I pay for Amazon Prime so I get any of the perks that come with my Prime membership. ... show more

  • Crappy Climbed Down: Not worth it- Machine fell apart after only 35 days Crappy Climbed Down: Not worth it- Machine fell apart after only 35 days
Model: MXC 2.0.
Writing this review by being honest and in good faith. I purchased the product for my own use and no offer was received in exchange for good review. I have been looking for a simple exercise machine to work out at home. Searching on Amazon for many different machines , I found this maxi climber which such had great reviews and only few bad ones. The product was easy to assemble, it took me only thirty minutes to put all together. I started my workout easy, five minutes a day for couple days, then increased to ten minutes in few days then 15 minutes and up to 30 minutes a day. The machine made me sweat from head to toes which I really liked cause I felt the calories I burnt. I didn’t lose any weight though during tkme but just felt great to be able to exercise and feeling healthy. While the exercise motion gave me a satisfying home exercise I that needed, the pedals weren’t built comfortably. I had to either tiptoe or use my heels to do the climbing, and it got my feet in pain. The pedals roughly just about a two and half inches square. I had to switch between tiptoes and heels when exercising with this machine. Sadly, just a little bit over a month when I tried to climb the machine, I saw some broken black plastic lying around the machine, which I didn’t know know where it was from. A day later I noticed that the plastic covers on the timing meter broken with more black plastic parts from the machine were on the floor. The machine lost its resistance when you step it and making a cracking noise - by then I knew something broken and had to come off inside the machine. The steps were no longer steady and looked like accident waiting to happen. I contacted the manufacturer via phone to report the defects, they asked me to provide pictures and receipt of purchase so that they could mail off the replacement part. I provided what they requested but never got the part(s) they told to be mailed. I contacted Amazon and was able to get the refund after the deadline. It’s too bad that the distributor or manufacturer that I contacted seemed to be in negligent. I know now those reviewer who gave one star were true experience, and made me wonder if those great reviews were really true. Well, I hope so, but this machine wasn’t worth half penny for me. ... show more
