The Taytum Swivel Task Chair by Martha Stewart, is what it claims, a great chair for completing shorter tasks that warrant siting. With its quality faux leather to its stylish oil rubbed bronze finish, this is a wonderful one to consider if you need such a chair. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and a few things to consider before buying. I. Quality – This chair is well-made out of what appears to be good quality materials, but so is everything I’ve gotten from the Martha Stewart furniture collection. It seems to be holding up very well and should be durable to some degree over the long term. II. Performance – This could be a little bit of a mixed bag, depending on your use for this chair. I found it to be an adequate size for its purpose, but on the smaller side compared to my normal choices, it’s just a little cramped. The functionality of my chair is been flawless. It rolls smoothly, the shock is easy to use and the swivel turns like butter The arm rests are lacking any padding, but you shouldn’t miss it much if it’s truly, just a task chair. The main padding is good quality and comfortable, but its thin and not comfortable for long stays. Overall, this is a great chair for its intended purpose. With its higher quality and looks, this has been a great choice that gets enjoyed often. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it. You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. My wife wanted a new chair for her office. The previous one was comfortable, but too large to tuck under the desk when not in use. This Taytum chair by Marth Stewart fit the bill perfectly. Assembly took less than 20 minutes, including un-packing. It took me about 5 minutes to unpack and unwrap everything, and then another 15 minutes to assemble it. There are really only 3 steps. First, attach the casters to the bottom of the chair. There are no tools required for this step and they just snap into place. Next, flip the chair upside-down and install the arm brackets using the 4 included gold-colored bolts. They provide you the allen wrench needed to tighten them. Next, install the lift mechanism plate using the 4 black bolts (exactly the same as the gold ones – just a different color). Then just set the chair on top of the base and you’re done. Check out my pictures for the final product. In the last two photos, you can see the various height options (with the desk as a point of reference). We are very happy with it. It fits perfectly under the desk and is comfortable to sit in. Note that your only adjustment is the ability to raise it up or lower it down. There is no ability to tilt to lean back, as with some other chairs. Great chair if you’re looking for something aesthetically pleasing for your modern office. ... show more

This is a beautiful chair. It looks sleek and simple and just gorgeous. It is a lot smaller than I expected, it says it has a 300lb weight limit, but it would not be a good chair for larger people. My 200lb teenage son barely fits between the arm rests and finds it too uncomfortable to sit in. The arm rests are uncomfortable too, and they seem like they're only there for looks. You could just leave them off if you wanted. It's is a fine chair for occasional use, or when looks are the most important thing, but I wouldn't want to sit in this chair all day every day. This chair came well packaged and was easy to put together. It took about 30 minutes to assemble. The chair is a soft white color with brass-colored detailing. The chair is a lot shorter than I expected; the seat sits lower than other chairs I've had. However, I am able to sit on this chair for long periods of time without feeling any discomfort. The armrest also sits low and has virtually no cushioning, so I tend to put a blanket over it to avoid the feeling of the hard metal. I'm able to swivel around and move this chair smoothly.
