This door has a lot going for it. The Pros: 1. Easy to install. 2. Door rolls up instead of going straight up. Which is great for situations with limited space. 3. Solar Power. 4. Instructions give dimensions for cutting and mounting needs. (Although I didn’t notice this until after I did my own measurements lol) 5. Cord from solar panel to unit is a good length. 6. Quiet when opening and closing. Some Cons: 1. Instructions are a little confusing. But manageable. 2. Setting up timer and light sensitivity mode is a bit confusing. It’s hard to know for sure when a command is for surely accepted. Lights blink but you gotta wait and see if what you programmed really works. 3. The remote is almost pointless. You must have a direct line of sight to the sensor on the bottom of the solar panel for it to work. At least in my case. You also have to be relatively close to it too. Kinda defeats the purpose of a remote if I have to go up to the coup. Might as well use the buttons on the solar panel. I wish there was a more confident way of setting an open time and closing time. Having a timer option on the remote would be nice too. It’s just gonna take some time working with it. I hope to soon get it on a schedule of open and close. My chickens are good about putting themselves up around the same time every night. If I understand the directions, I must be up and at the coup at the hour I want it to open and press the proper buttons to set the opening time. And the same applies for the closing time as well. Once I do that it should do it indefinitely. We shall see. Update: Finally figured out how to get the door to auto open and shut! I believe it’s set to the light sensor. Came home late and the chickens were already up and the door had closed! Got up the next morning and the door was open and chickens running around! ... show more

This is great opens every morning at the same time making it so I do not need to go open it early. They “usually” go inside before it closes making my chicken tending very easy! Easy to open or close if you need them in or out at different time without affecting the schedule

Really like the convenience that the automatic door has brought to our backyard chicken experience the only thing that I would change would be to put a timer on it so that the door doesn’t close just because the sensor doesn’t detect light. I bought this one to replace another chicken coop door I have that's already installed. The two things I love about this one is that it is solar powered so I don't have to keep changing and charging the batteries as I do with my old door, and the other thing is the roll up door, it takes up a lot less space. I don't have chickens, but I use this for my ducks. This door would work well for any kind of bird, dog, cat, or any other kind of small/medium sized pets. ... show more

This door was really easy to install in my chicken coop. If there is a chicken in the door it doesn’t close all the way, so my chickens will be safe. It responds to the remote from a pretty fair distance. Great addition to the coop so in the morning can open their gate while drinking my coffee in the deck without having to get all the way there! I love this door. I used to have to go out each morning and let my chickens out and when I worked it was late in the day before I could. I was hesitant to let them out at 430 in the morning because of predators. But now as soon as it’s daylight they can get out. Plus at night they can be put up and I don’t have to worry about it not locking them inside safe. Thank you so much for your product.
