I have had 20G Marineland tanks for 7 years, and had the same light bar. The version that same with my tank had problem with the ON/OFF switch within a year. I bought this to replace the old light bar, and I already notice a difference. It's bright, the on/off switch is better, and the cord is better with the plug in 3 feet from the light. The new light housing will stick up slightly from the lid, but it has notches where you can keep the light in place when lifting the lid. These are very pricey, but worth it. Good quality light, however for the money the fact that it has no timer or auto on/off/night function is kind of ridiculous. Unfortunately this is the light that fits my tank lid.. Like anything, these don't last forever. Needed a replacement for the original light supplied with the aquarium hood. Slightly redesigned but still a perfect fit. Maybe the new design will last longer.

I needed this for a replacement light in a 55g long tank with two marine land hooded lights. I’ve had the first ones for several years now. A replacement hood with light was about $95 so I took a chance on this and it fit perfectly. Thumbs up!
