Changed / flushed the power steering fluid and replaced the reservoir as shown in an online video. Power steering smoothed out and is now quiet. Video stated that the reservoir has an internal filter. I was not aware of the filter. Old oil was very dark and I assume the filter was getting plugged.

The part came in on time and it was exactly as described. I saw other comments that stated it didn't come with a filter but it DOES!!! I got a flash light and looked inside and I could see the mesh very thin and hard to see because the outline matches the inside of the product. Now, just waiting for hubby to out it in and see how it goes! ... show more

Good replacement for 08 Ridgeline. Comes with red cap (some speak of the cap not included). Has small rubber caps on inlet&outlet nipples which can be used as a "plug" for flushing the fluid. Dorman 603-709

    • Replacement match for 2006 Honda Ridgeline
My old power steering reservoir interior plastic/nylon for diameter filter was clogged. After removing, cleaning and drying, reintroduction of a small amount of Honda power steering fluid showed my that the fluid did not flow through the filter but around it via small gaps at circumference of filter/reservoir interface. I bought the Dorman filter, put a bit on Honda fluid in it and saw it pass readily through filter. Installed reservoir--hose connections and retention clamp in same place as Honda original. No leaks (in new reservoir nor in any interconnects on power steering assembly) and no more power steering noise. ... show more

    • Perfect fit ‘07 Honda Pilot
This one seems to be the upgraded one too. I needed to change mine out as I just hit 300,000 miles and it was looking rough. Probably should have done it 100k ago but oh well. This along with new fluid and an o-ring it fixed the loud winding noise. Worth it!!
