We bought this to upgrade our terrarium for our new juvenile bearded dragon. He didn’t eat for over a week after installation of this product and we tried so many different things to spark his appetite, with no positive results. My wife was reading through a Facebook group that said this kit was dangerous and to avoid at all costs, because the bulb wasn’t putting out the advertised UVB. I initially thought it was just more Facebook misinformation but researched it last night and sure enough, MANY people with solarmeters were reporting the same. We bought a solarmeter from Amazon which arrived this afternoon. We just checked the terrarium, directly under the light, 12 inches below, and the UVI was 1.2 (!!!, pic attached). Bearded dragons need a UVI between 4.0-6.0, this bulb is woefully insufficient. Needless to say, I am both extremely thankful and extremely upset. We bought a popular competitor’s (which begins with an “A”) 12% bulb and fixture kit, and the solarmeter is showing what they advertised, 5-6 UVI at the appropriate distance. I hope our little guy survives, he has lost so much weight during the week+ that we had him under this garbage bulb. I have never been so upset at a product and I hope anyone reading this takes this review and the other negative reviews seriously. BTW, the solarmeter, while ridiculously expensive, is worth its weight in gold to us right now. If you have the means I highly recommend it, since proper UVB levels are so critical to having a healthy bearded dragon. Thanks for your time and best of luck with your pet. 👍 ... show more

Like it says in title light worked about 7 months then bulb broke. Bought new bulb now the light won't turn on 😞 now I have to buy a new lamp. My tortoises have no UVB gotta get this done quick.
