My iguanas pretty long and this works well for his set up. My bulb recently burned out, but that was after quite a few months of use. I definitely prefer the tube's over the bulbs and would recommend this.

The worst thing you can buy is a Repti Zoo UVB lamp and fixture. Mine worked for exactly 2 weeks. I bought a T5 HO 10% 39W UVB bulb. I measured it with a UVB meter, and at a distance of 12 inches it was producing only around 2% UVB, while more reputable brands consistently give 7–9%. And that’s not even the main issue. I installed the lamp correctly from day one. I took it out of the box carefully, never touched the glass with bare hands, only handled it with a tissue, mounted it securely, and left it untouched. It ran on a proper 12h/12h schedule. Exactly 12 days later, it simply died. At first I thought, “Fine, whatever.” I already planned to replace the bulb soon anyway because the UVB output was terrible. I had already bought a bulb from another well-known manufacturer starting with “A”, so I inserted it into the Repti Zoo fixture — and it didn’t turn on. I thought maybe the bulb was damaged during shipping. So I drove out and bought two more bulbs: one from manufacturer A and another from manufacturer Z, another very well-known brand. Neither of them worked in the Repti Zoo fixture. And because of this terrible manufacturer, my reptile ended up being without UVB for 2 days. Eventually I gave up, bought a complete kit from manufacturer A, and everything worked immediately. I understand Repti Zoo is a cheaper option, but honestly, products like this shouldn’t even exist. Remember this: using Repti Zoo UVB products can seriously harm your pets. Their lamps don’t even produce 50% of the advertised UVB output, and the fixture quality is awful. Spend the extra $50 and have peace of mind knowing your animals are safe. I’m returning all of this junk. ... show more

The first one wasn’t packaged right and we received it damaged. I talked to customer service and they sent another one out right away. This one was packed properly and it works great!!

Like it says in title light worked about 7 months then bulb broke. Bought new bulb now the light won't turn on 😞 now I have to buy a new lamp. My tortoises have no UVB gotta get this done quick.
