  • Basic but perfectly adequate
Style: Dual Action Black | AIR-1
I bought this to use during inclement weather to burn a few calories and build a bit of cardio tolerance since after several injuries I was really out of shape. I put it together myself without assistance in record time -- about 35 minutes; the nuts, bolts, washers and tools to assemble it were included in the package. It was easy to construct. And it actually can help you get a decent workout if what you're looking for is a modest fitness increase. It's really basic: Fan bike and the computer with LCD screen to let you know how you're doing. You can see time elapsed, current speed in MPH, RPM of your pedals, distance you would have gone if you were on a real bike, and how many calories your workout has burned. The harder you pedal, the more resistance you get; you can actually get a pretty good cardio workout on this bike. Seat height is easy to adjust too. And if you just want to work on your arms, you can put your feet up on the footrests instead of the pedals and do that too. No, it's no top-of-the-line total gym, but it's a good buy. It's sturdy and when you get moving on it, the fan blowing air over you as you pedal is a nice cooling treat. I set it up in a room with a nice view, and found it easy to become a daily habit to get on it and pedal away. I've only had it a month, but I can already see a difference in my fitness level. Going to keep at it! ... show more

  • I wanted a high end one but was not sure if i would like a fan bike since i never tried one
Style: Dual Action Black | AIR-1
i was skeptical about buying this! I wanted a high end one but was not sure if i would like a fan bike since i never tried one! i do very intense extreme workouts using bodyweight , heavy weights and a weighted vest sometimes! I dont really like elliptical or treadmills! I really like this air fan bike!! I use it for high intensity interval workouts! i work it as hard as i can and fast as i can for 10 seconds on 10 seconds off! this thing kicks my butt in less then ten minutes! time saver for sure! five stars because its sturdy/solid and so far is holding up! im pretty rough on it! I fit well on it! i am 5ft 11 inches tall ,185 lbs and theres seat adjustment left still! It works the arms better than i expected, although if it had a longer range of motion for the arms it would be perfect! i know, i am being a nitpicking spoiled brat now ! lol. I was going to spend alot more money on a different one! im glad i didnt! this gets it done for me! very simple to put together. did it in 30 minutes! used a ratchet with allen key socket! and screw gun instead of tools it came with! for the price i think you cant beat this! one complaint i do have is it got delivered to my house and was left in the rain! right in front of my screened porch! no plastic or anything! heavy down pours on it! it was saturated !also few holes in the box but nothing was damaged ! so all in all i shouldn,t complain! hope this helps! good luck and work out hard! ... show more

  • Excellent Fan Bike for the Price
Style: Dual Action Black | AIR-1
At first I really wanted to purchase an upright bike and I may still in the future if needed. But after doing ALOT of research in my price range, there wasn't an upright bike that I wanted due to reviews and inventory available under $350. I searched on Amazon and some sporting goods store sites as well (even the manufacturers), but felt I would have to increase my price range to get the kind of upright bike I wanted. So I next researched fan bikes to see if reviewers thought they could be as good a workout over the long haul as the automatic resistance bikes are. I've never used a fan bike before and my gym (PF) didn’t have one either, but I was curious to see how you can use them to workout. So I checked out a bunch of youtube videos and reviews of various brands/models on Amazon, and decided originally that I wanted a variation of the Schwinn Airdyne Exercise bike. I was interested in the fact that you can get a great workout for not only your legs but your arms as well, and that the resistance is up to you. I also liked the idea of doing sprint workouts with the bike as well. So since the Airdyne bikes are between $625-$900 depending on the bike, I found this comparable bike on here in December. It only cost me $268 with free shipping (used Prime during my free trial). So far, it's a fantastic bike. It was very easy to put together with two people as they suggest. My brother and I put it together in 30 min and that’s because the base is already put together for you. The bike comes with all the tools needed to put it together including an odd shaped phillips screwdriver. It's very sturdy and in my opinion, can probably even be used efficiently by people over the suggested maximum weight. The bike is not loud at all especially compared to the youtube videos I've seen. I can watch tv or listen to music while doing fast sprints on the bike and still hear everything very well. It is a good workout for the arms like I hoped it would be as well as the legs. I sometimes weight train and then use the bike and my arms start to really burn after a while. The only thing I may eventually change is the seat. They provide you with a wide seat which is not very comfortable at all at first. I'm hoping I'll get used to it like I did while using the spin bikes at my gym. But if not, I’ll buy a seat cover for it or just replace the seat altogether. I can only stay on the bike for at most 30 min because the seat becomes unbearable after that. But I’ve recently been using it for 15-20 min sprints, spinning for 30 seconds as fast as I can either every time there’s a chorus on a song or every few min, which seems to be working well. I’ve already lost 7 lbs in a few weeks of using it and changing my eating habits. Otherwise, I'm very happy with my purchase, it's very sturdy and works well, is pretty quiet for a fan bike and can be more exhausting to use than upright bikes because your arms eventually get tired. Overall, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good inexpensive exercise bike. Although, I now see the price recently went up again, so you may want to wait until another sale come up like I did. I would have given it 5 stars except I HAD to deduct for the seat. Just being honest! ... show more

  • Fantastic Bike!!
Style: Dual Action Black | AIR-1
I have had this bike a little under two weeks, and am delighted with it. First of all, the box it came in was quite damaged, but the bike was completely untouched, even though parts of it were showing through the damaged box. Second, assembly was a snap. I had no issues at all with assembly, except that I did need my own wrench for a couple parts...the wrench provided is marginal. As I was putting it together, I was blown away by how solid it was feeling each step of the way. Now, having ridden on it for probably about 100 minutes total, I am more pleased than I ever expected to be. Granted, the seat does angle down a bit much, and is not the most comfortable bike seat as a result (at least for my anatomy), but it's do-able; I just have to adjust myself back on the seat after a few minutes of riding. I have also ridden a pro-grade Schwinn Airdyne at the PT's office, and this is actually every bit as solid, or more so. It doesn't do any of the clanking the Schwinn does. The breeze from it onto my body isn't as much as I had hoped it would be (much of the breeze blows out the sides of the fan cage), but otherwise, it is perfect. A great workout, solid build, economical. I would buy it again; I recommend it; and am sure I'll get several years of good exercise out of it. ... show more

  • Buy it, I hated working out and now love it!
Style: Dual Action Black | AIR-1
Look when I tell you i hated working out i mean i HATED working out. This bike created some weird challenge for me because it is exhausting but fun, try to do 3 minutes, then try 5, then try 10, 15, 20, 30. I swear 10/15 minutes on this thing at a pace that keeps your heart rate up is a challenge, you will be exhausted but feel so good at the same time. And not only do you get a good cardio workout but your arms are also working just as hard as your legs. If your on the bigger side, im 285 trust me this bike CAN handle you going all out and has been great the last 2 month. My 5'0 mother and 5'1 wife are both able to use this bike as can i at 5'8. The adjustable seat allows a range of seat positions and the front wheels allow for easy moving. Set up of the bike was not bad at all, I did it myself, probably within 30 minutes and would have been even better with another person. ... show more

  • Great purchase!
Style: Dual Action Black | AIR-1
Arrived quickly (2 days) and was well packaged. God bless the kind USPS man that brought the big box right into my living room! Step-by-step instructions were super easy to follow, no missing parts, and I had it all put together and ready to ride within 1.5 hours. The seat is thick, but I still find it uncomfortable after riding for 30 minutes. Easy fix with a padded gel seat cover. It is a little noisy from the fan, but I can still watch TV and hear it while riding in the living room. It has wheels on the front so you can easily lift it from the back and wheel it around the house. I wheel it out of the way to the back of the living room when I am done. I am 4' 11" and its works very well for me - I chose this one because the reviews suggested it was for shorter people (& they were right). The arms bars don't extend super far, so I don't feel like I will fall off the seat when using the arms with the legs. I think I would like the seat to be adjustable forward and backward- sometimes I feel like I am right on top of the pedals. Scooting back on the seat helps. I found that I can get a great upper body workout by just using the arms and propping my feet up on the provided foot bars. The harder you pedal, the harder the work out (it can make you sweat!!), and you generate a lovely cool breeze that feels good while working out. After several uses, I went back and checked all the bolts and only two needed to be tightened. It feels very sturdy and well made. Over all, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and would buy it again!! ... show more

  • Good beginner’s bike.
Style: Dual Action Black | AIR-1
I like this bike. It is definitely a beginner level machine, but it is plenty for me at this stage of life (66 years old). It was easy to assemble and is light enough to move around easily. I bought the seat pad recommended for it but found it too small, but the seat is fine without it. I use the bike in conjunction with other pieces of exercise equipment and get a good workout in total. It is not overly noisy. No regrets on this purchase. UPDATE: After 4 months of use, the bike broke. Apparently it is not able to handle the amount of work I put in on it. Serious disappointment. Dropped my rating to reflect the lack of durability. UPDATE 2: Customer service is terrible. Contacted Impex-Fitness September 25, to date there has been no resolution. I was asked for my shipping address, which I provided on October 1, so that they could ship a new chain. To date, not only no chain but also no reply as to when it will be shipped. Maybe I received a lemon, but this does not seem to be any way to run customer service. ... show more

  • what a great upper body workout! Just what we needed.
Style: Dual Action Black | AIR-1
I have to say I saw this at academy and was impressed. They didn't have one in stock so rather than wait a week or two... I did what I do so often which is check amazon and sure enough they had it in stock and with prime, I got it in 2 days. It arrived in great condition and assembly only took me about 15minutes. I want to say this is a well built piece of equipment. The moving parts have actual sealed ball bearings so it is very smooth and if you doubt this can give you a good workout... I have to say it will totally wear you out. The nice thing about this particular model is the foot pegs. There were the big selling point for me because they allow you to isolate your arms and not have to use your legs to pedal. By doing this, it is a great upper body cardio workout. I'd suggest starting with 10mph for 5mins. Yes it will make your arms burn and you can up the intensity by just speeding up. The wheel is actually a fan so air makes the resistance and the faster you go, the tougher it gets. I am very pleased with this and both my spouse and I are needing to get back into shape so this will really help. I bet it will really help you to. ... show more
