The media could not be loaded. I was excited to get this chain hoist to review. First thing off the rip the package says heavy and it delivers. It seems very well built and the instruction says it’s made of high grade steel. It comes with the protective layer of oil instructions and a pair of gloves for handling the chain hoist. The gloves are a nice addition since that protective oil is slippery . It’s quite easy to use the chain hoist. It can free wheel in the neutral position where you can simply pull on the chain and it will move up or down quickly. Once you engage the hoist to either forward or reverse the handle will spin freely until the load is encountered. Once the load gets picked up, the ratcheting action takes over. The ratcheting action was smooth and although I didn’t push it to its 750 pound limit, it seemed to be very good. I would recommend fixing this hoist to a chain That’s well connected to a structure. Something like a 4x4 or 2 x 10 or 2 x 12. A steel beam would be best. Of important note once you have a load on the chain hoist do not switch it to the neutral position or it will release the load. It’s best to move your load. Take the weight off the hoist, then disengage it. The unit itself is pretty heavy. The chain is not super thick but it’s a decent quality for a 750 pound. I think this hoist is a good value for the money. The functionality was very good. Also, the chain hoist is super smooth and it’s action. The ratcheting action was positive and the free wheel was very easy to use.
