Used for hauling a 200# dinghy on a boat and worked extraordinarily well. Quality is something you would expect to pay a lot more for. Definitely stay with the 10' SS chain. Once attached and working the rachet could be worked with just a finger. Low geared but heavy lifting capabilities.

I used this to hoist a motorcycle to change the engine. Easy to use and very strong. Good mechanical advantage. Hooked to a ring bolted to ceiling joist. Much cheaper than an engine lift.
