  • Fantastic lifting hooks and especially great for injuries!!!
Color: Flat Black 2 Hooks Size: MEN-Wrist Size Large
The media could not be loaded. These are fantastic lifting hooks and they are especially great for injuries!!! Please see my video for explanation. I injured my forearm muscle doing landmine back rows (too much weight) with a v handle. Basically my back could handle more weight but my forearm couldn't, so that is what these hooks are for. It was bothering me for quite a while because I kept re aggravating my forearm every time I did any kind of pulling movements. I have been using these hooks anytime I do a pulling movement now and my arm is almost totally healed! I use them all the time and plan to keep doing so from now on. They are extremely well made and heavy duty. I used them for shoulder shrugs at almost 300 pounds and they felt totally secure. Very comfortable, very solid. I am extremely happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • FINALLY! A perfect solution to my lifting problem!
This is why these lifting hooks are the BEST INVENTION since creatine, and why you should GET THESE HOOKS TODAY: (By the way: I have been an Amazon member for about 18 years and have written only about a dozen reviews in all that time. I will write a review only if the product is awful and I'm outraged, or if it's insanely good and I want to reward the manufacturer for producing a stellar product. These hooks are THAT good.) I am a 59-year-old man and last September I decided to get serious about weightlifting. For the last four months I have been spending 3-4 hours a day in the gym, seven days a week, and even hired a personal trainer. I take a lot of supplements, both to protect my joints and to increase my energy and my physiological response to exercise. I've doubled my max weight amounts in every exercise, but for the last two months I've been getting more and more frustrated with my hand pain in "pull" exercises -- my rowing, chin-ups and lat pullup exercises barely tire out my muscles, but the pain in my hands gets so intense I have to stop before muscle failure. That's BAD! Muscle failure is the key to progress. My grip is tiring out too soon, whether I'm doing low-weight high reps, or high-weight low reps. I've tried gloves (pointless) and lifting straps (cumbersome, awkward and ultimately useless), but neither helped. THESE HOOKS SOLVED THE PROBLEM! I wear them far enough down so they provide about 60% support (I still want to strengthen my grip, so I don't want the hooks to do it all). NO PAIN! I can go until muscle failure now and focus on the muscle groups I want to activate because I'm not thinking about my grip at all! I don't know where they are made, but if it's in China, American manufacturing businesses should be worried, because these are WELL MADE. Solid, well-constructed, high quality. Worth every penny. If I had seen these in the sporting goods store I would have happily paid double what I paid on Amazon. My only gripe is that I wish the company had more information on the specific difference in usage between the original and the reverse hook design -- I read through about 6 pages of questions on Amazon before I gave up, with the only answers being: 'I think the originals would work best.' HEY GRIP POWER PADS: Tell us customers how the two designs affect usage and when each is recommended, OK?! Final note: I'm so thrilled with these hooks that I'm ordering a pair of reverse hooks today. Then I can figure out the difference for myself. ... show more

  • Not for smaller hands and wrists
I don’t know how to put things into perspective but let’s just say I wear kids gloves and my wedding ring is a size 3.5 soooo I have really small hands. My grip gives out when I deadlift over 170 lbs so I tried straps but I like to feel the bar. The hook on these feels sturdy but it’s just too big for my wrists and hands. The wrist part goes to my forearm when I grip the hook?! I couldn’t even lift the bar alone to practice so I just relied on my good on calluses lol oh well. Small hand problems. ... show more

  • Slippery and width of hook is too broad
I've used Harbinger rubber coated hooks for a long time now but after they got lost, I decided to give these a try. The positive is the wraps are very nice and the padding is top notch. The hooks themselves are very bad for my use. #1. The width of the hooks for me is too wide, is causes a weird distribution of weight on the wrists compared to my old hooks. The purpose of using hooks is to hook securely onto the bar so you don't have to worry about losing your grip, with how wide and short the hooks are on these, I couldn't really do my exercises without worrying about my handle, which leads me to #2. The coating on the hooks are very, very slippery. While doing shrugs on the shrug machine, I have to constantly readjust because every time I lifted up, the hooks would shift, never a problem with my older rubber coated hooks. Sometimes old fashioned is better, this newer design did not do it for me. This is just my PERSONAL opinion. I am returning mine as I do no see my self getting good use out of these. ... show more
