This is a very good come along for the money. We use these at work all the time and have bought these and other brands costing 5 times as much. If you throw them around or get the chain in a bind and keep hanking on it they will all break no matter the brand. Treat it well and it will last.

Very good lift. Used to load furniture into pickup. The only comment would be that the mechanism tends to rotate as you turn or ratchet the handle. Using two hands solves that problem.

I probably should have bought a lighter rated version since this one is quite heavy (that's not a bad thing given its purpose). But compared to other INDUSTRIAL brands the cost differential is so significant that this was a HIGHLY attractive item. It "feels" as robust as the American brands I have used in the past. I have several old 6 ton ratchet hoists and now at my older age I can barely lift them. This is one of those tools that can empower the the DIY individual if used as designed and with all due care. Used these to lift an aftercooler off a large industrial diesel. Less an issue of weight and more an issue of how large/cumbersome the item is. Used x2 of the 1/4t and had no issues. Great for fine control and the hooks did the job just fine. Going to keep a close eye on these for wear/tear but overall very happy with the purchase. If I was going larger in tonnage, I might select a higher end brand like Harrington to avoid surprises. ... show more
