  • Five Stars — Impressive on Mountain Terrain and Saves Me Hours
Size: Standard Version
Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD 5000 Review I am very pleased with the LUBA 3 AWD 5000, and I am glad I purchased it. Based on my experience so far, I would purchase it again. I have a couple of acres in the foothills with some steep grades, so my property is not exactly an easy test case for a robot mower. Even with that, LUBA has been very impressive. The biggest positive for me is how much time and labor it has already saved. Being able to tell it when to mow and where to mow, and then have it take off and do the work, is a huge benefit. I currently have 12 different tasks set up, and once those areas are created, it becomes much easier to manage the mowing around the property. As far as mowing performance goes, it does a great job in the areas where there is just grass, even on some of the more challenging hillsides. That has probably been one of the most impressive things about it so far. There are areas where I honestly feel like it looks like it might tip or fall over, but it does not. It keeps going and handles those areas better than I expected. My grass was pretty long at first, and LUBA tends to flatten tall grass as it runs over it rather than cutting it well. I ended up mowing with a regular gas-powered mower first, and that made a big difference. I have found that the key is to keep the grass short and stay on top of the mowing tasks. Once the grass is under control, LUBA does a much better job maintaining it. The main issues I run into are in areas with large amounts of pine needles and pinecones, which is to be expected. In those situations, when LUBA turns and cannot gain traction, it can dig into the ground while turning around and around, which sometimes makes it get stuck even more before it finally gets itself out. I do wish there were better turning options, because it only has two, and neither one is ideal for those conditions. That said, I really see this more as a difficult terrain issue than a major problem with the mower itself. I run it at the lowest speed possible so it can cut as effectively as possible, and even then, not all of the grass gets cut perfectly evenly. I can still see some longer pieces of grass in various places. But again, considering the terrain I am asking it to mow, I cannot really blame it for not handling every difficult situation perfectly. The app took some time to get used to. At first, it was a little difficult to navigate and manage, but after working with it for several weeks and creating tasks, channels, boundary zones, and different mowing areas, I have become much more proficient with it. The only app issue I still have not figured out is the mowing pattern setting. It seems like I should be able to set different mowing patterns for each individual task, since that is an option within each task. However, no matter what I do, it applies one mowing pattern to all tasks. Because of the various hills and slopes on my property, I constantly have to go back in and change it. I have not actually reached out to Mammotion about this yet, so it is possible there is a setting or fix I am missing. I purchased it in April of 2026, so I cannot speak to long-term durability or longevity yet. But so far, I am very impressed and very happy with it. There are a few issues, but they are not bad enough to change my overall opinion. For my property, LUBA has already saved me a lot of time and effort, and I am giving it five stars. ... show more

  • Works great once set up but don’t change any settings as you will lose your maps
Size: Standard Version
This works great once you get it set up but DO NOT change your settings because if you do you will lose all your maps and you cannot save your maps! Customer service is ok but they are not too knowledgeable because if they don’t know the answer they tell you to delete your maps and start again. What they fail to realize is that it takes hours to create the map with all the no go zones and I think there should be a way to save your maps so that if you pick a setting you don’t like or does not work for you at least you could reload your maps. So I learned my lesson and will not change anything and if Mammotion reads this you need to find a way for the user to save and reload their maps and no go zones ... show more

  • Do you HATE mowing? This might be the Best purchase I have made yet.
Size: Standard Version
When I decided to purchase the Luba 3 it was either going to be the dumbest purchase I have ever made or the best one. I have to say so far so good. :) I set it up using the Inavi system and not the RTK pole. I would recommend making sure you have wifi signal where ever you put the charging station. I have mine inside the garage by the door and that works well for where it is. Mapping the area was easy with the app although I wish it had a little better instructions on adding the channels (the path for it to drive between areas without mowing). Its a new company and constant updating things so I understand why it doesn't have that info ready currently. I have had it for two months now and have changed the settings between each mow to see what the best settings are for my yard. It does a great job mowing and I go in every two weeks and trim and edge and I'm done. Super easy. A couple of things to make your life easier. The lidar system is fantastic but mow your yard one last time manually before using it for the first time. It will help the process. Think of the Luba as a yard trim and not a full on mow and it will work better. I usually do it every 4 days and that works well for me. Slow down the mow speed and that gets a nicer cut for my yard. Buy the stand for it so you can put it upright and do maintenance. (I didn't and I regret that.) They are constantly updating it so while that is a good thing, I hold my breath when I update it hoping that it doesn't screw anything up. hehe. I am going to remap my areas when I have a second to smooth out a few areas that I could do better but I have noticed that at first i had a few hiccups but then it seemed to learn the area better and has been working flawlessly now. This is a great product and would highly recommend if you HATE mowing like I do. I have close to 1/2 acre and bought the 1.25 acre one to do my neighbors yard too. If it holds up for a year, it will have paid for itself. LOVE the Luba 3 so far. ... show more

  • The Luba 3 is a real improvement on an already excellent product.
Size: Standard Version
First, my experience with robot lawnmowers is limited to my Luba 2 and Luba 3 so I can't directly compare them to other types of mower though I do feel the small blades of the Luba cut the grass into a much finer mulch than mowers with larger blades. I have a pretty large yard with very steep slopes and banks. Life events and weather often prevent me from getting on the riding mower every week to keep the grass cut and it gets tall very quickly. When this happens the clippings blanket the freshly cut grass, turn brown and kill the grass underneath. The Luba has eliminated that problem entirely. My yard has become a lawn and I'm very pleased. While the Luba 2 was good for close to the house, any distance from WiFi or the RTK caused it to run into trouble. The Luba 3 comes with 4G connectivity built in with the first 3 years free. This is a game changer. I didn't even install the RTK for the Luba 3. Near the house it connects to WiFi but when it gets an acre or more away the 4G really shines. My yard is far from flat and smooth. It has large ruts and holes that often trapped the Luba 2 which relies heavily on the front bumper sensor to avoid objects but I have watched the Luba 3 "think" its way out of bad situations and continue on. Fascinating to watch. The Luba 3 has a very bright LED headlight that, combined with the LiDAR allows the mower to operate at night. As with any mower steep slopes can be difficult. Travel up and down the slope is easy enough but moving perpendicular to the slope can be difficult if not impossible. In my yard I have watched the Luba 3 "tack" against the slope in order to maintain a straight course which I find very impressive. Area 3 of my yard is 23,745 square feet and the grass was 6 to 9 inches tall. It took the mower about four days to get it cut down to 1.5 inches but it did a grand job resulting in a look very similar to a well maintained golf course. ... show more
