Description

The Makita 1” AVT rotary hammer (model HR2641, with D-handle) is engineered with anti-vibration technology (AVT ), an internal counterbalance system for significantly less vibration. The HR2641 combines performance and power with less vibration in a compact size, and is ideal for a range of applications including overhead drilling. The HR2641 has an 8 amp motor that delivers 2.9 Joules (2.1 ft.Lbs.) of impact energy to handle the most demanding applications. The 3-mode operation offers “rotation only”, “hammering with rotation” or “chipping only” for multiple applications. Modes can be easily changed with a recessed hammer-function selector, which is located below the gear housing for improved durability. The ergonomic D-shaped handle with a rubberized soft grip provides increased operator comfort, as well as a retractable tool hook to secure the tool to studs, ladders, and rails when not in use. The HR2641 is engineered for a range of applications including overhead drilling into concrete, wood and metal, removing tile, and more. It is ideal for a range of trades including masons, plumbers, electricians, Sprinkler installers, City maintenance crews, and general contractors seeking a best-in-class 1” rotary hammer.

  • A man's toy!
Style: Tool Only
I bought this for my husband for Christmas, he always wanted a good heavy-duty drill and this fit the bill! Many drills do not have the power to drill concrete walls. He loves it! and cherishes it like it is the best thing ever!

  • Just Right for the DIY User
Style: Tool Only
This is the right tool for the DIY user, and professionals working on small to mid-size jobs. I like that it supports the use of SDS bits, pivoting positions easy with the 360 swivel handle, and a hard case for mobility purposes.

  • Great tool with all the right stuff
Style: Tool Only
This is a great hammer drill! I did quite a bit of research and even tried two other brands before settling on this one. It has plenty of power and the right features to make it easy to use. Aside from Makita being a trusted brand with quality products there are two things about this hammer drill that I really like. First is the trigger lock. I used another brand hammer drill that didn’t have a trigger lock to pull up tile in a small 40 square foot bathroom. After finishing, my trigger fingers (yes I had to try and use multiple fingers to keep going) were sore for days. I swore I would never use another hammer drill without a trigger lock. Second is the drill/hammer dial. On the same tile demo project the other hammer drill had the dial on the left side of the body which is exactly where I wanted to put my hand to hold the drill when not using the detachable side handle. The dial would gradually get pushed out of the lock position and the chisel would then be able to rotate which meant I had to stop, reposition the chisel, turn the dial back to lock and work some more until it happened again. This model has the dial on the bottom of the body so it is out of the way for both right and left handed users. Overall I would highly recommend this to anyone. ... show more

  • Great tool, Amazon service mediocre
Style: Tool Only
I love this thing! Bought it to break up a tile bathroom floor with mortar bed, and I was done in two hours. Would've been even quicker if I hadn't had to stop and clean up as I went. I highly recommend this hammer. One caveat, though -- I had to order it twice. The person at Amazon who is in charge of labeling the inventory (or the person who pulled the order) apparently doesn't know a damned thing about tools (and/or can't read) -- the first time I ordered this I got a 3/8" battery powered angle drill (clearly labeled on the side of the box with pictures). Furthermore, having Amazon Prime does not help -- it still takes two more days to get the correct item after they screw it up, so plan your time for errors at Amazon. ... show more

  • Get’s the job done!
Style: Tool Only
Bought this tool to drill holes in a concrete floor for 1/2 inch wedge bolts. Drilled 125, 6 inch deep holes effortlessly. Makita is my got to brand for reliable, long lasting tools. Drill is easy to install and remove. Depth guide is a plus. Case is well made.

  • Great for removing tile
Style: Tool Only
I am 74 and was dreading the job of removing the ugly 18”x18” tiles in my bathroom. I bought a 3” wide bit to go with this hammer drill and started the job. Twenty five minutes later all the tile was up. Having the right tool makes even hard jobs easy. I have only used this drill in the “hammer only” position but if the “drill” and “drill and hammer” modes don’t work I have still gotten my money’s worth. Now on to my wife’s bathroom. ... show more

  • Stop...hammer time !
Style: Tool Only
I got this to put a dildo on but it is way too powerful for that (at least for me) I ended up keeping it, though, and use it to chip the ice off my front porch.
