I use this to separate ball joints on 3/4 ton pickup. Wish I had bought one a long time ago. Hits hard and works well. I wouldn't say it separated the ball joints easily but it wasn't too hard. It separated the tie rod ends with ease.

For it's compact size it's got some power. Used it to cut 7/16 frame rivets, and it eventually cut the heads off. I cut an " x " shape in the rivet heads and most of them came off within a minute of hitting them with the air hammer. Works great, I got this mostly to cut off frame rivets on a 80s chevy, pops them right off. This thing works great, the chisel bit broke right near the end of the job but I was able to finish up with it. This is the best air hammer I have ever used. As an automobile technician for over two decades, I’ve owned several and used all the top brands. This is the best one out there. Best quality, best performance, and best price (only the cheap generic ones are cheaper and you don’t want those). The short barrel is better in almost all scenarios. It hit fast, is more controllable, and fits into tighter spaces. You can’t go wrong with this one. I am new to this type of tool, but not air compressors. The bottom of the tool has 2 nuts and the exposed one has a center black piece that doesn't push in and I can trunk the bottom nut freely but doesn't tightness or loosen. I may be just an idiot.
