I was a little nervous about purchasing this lift after reading some of the reviews about the assembly instructions, but knew this was a high quality lift chair from a reputable company and especially like that the lift has arms that fold up and down. I am happy to report the assembly was easy and we are very happy with this product! Assembly is not difficult, but it does involve careful reading of the instructions while looking at diagrams. If you are thinking about buying this lift, but don’t consider yourself to be handy, or if you have dexterity challenges handling small items like a cotter pin and screws, consider asking a friend or family member to assemble it for you. Pro tip: don’t tighten all of the screws until you are positive you have the two pieces installed correctly. Don’t worry, if the screws are not facing the right direction, the pieces will simply fall off - so you will know right away if you did it wrong. The remote needs to be charged prior to use and then plugged into the lift. Right after I assembled the lift and charged the remote control, we had the opportunity to try it. My mom fell and she was able to use the lift to get off the ground into a sitting position, and then stand up. I highly recommend this product! ... show more

    • the video is not acurate, it takes more work but it does work
The video shows an older lady easily wheeling this thing out and viola, hubby is off the floor. It does not show that in order to use it you have to put these heavy metal bars with feet on it every single time, then remove them to store the chair. This is a solid, sturdy lift, which is what we wanted, but it is REALLY heavy IMO, if you are older and have to keep tipping it to get those bars on and off, and they are not easy to slide on or off either. Assembly was a bit of a nightmare for me. I had to do it alone and it is heavy. I had watched a youtube video which actually made things harder because it was different then the instruction booklet. The instructions are just pictures, pretty small, and I struggled to orient myself to them, once I did that with some elbow grease I was able to get the bar with the wheels connected to the frame. ugghhh I am still struggling with how to fold it up for storage. I basically quit for now and just found a spot to keep it on it's side. Overall it functions well, and for the price tag IT SHOULD! but it is far heavier and more cumbersome to use and store than described.... and YES, we would still buy this one, even with all that. ... show more

    • This product is a scam
The idea is very good but the easy of use it's a big lié. Won't mention the lack of instructions to assemble and how to use it. If you watch the video, the lady manipulates the unit very easy. But the scam is when she unfolds the seat and the man starts climbing into the seat. The two long and heavy rails appear by magic. Those things are very bulky and somebody needs to either be on the floor to install those tails or lift the 50 pound frame to install them. That defeats the purpose of the product. I took the thing to Mexico for my both 87 parents who struggle to get up when they fall. I can't return this piece of heavy junk. I had to leave the two rails installed and thight them with some heavy duty wires. Now the thing is a very heavy chair with no legs that my mom has to push if they need it. No way this works on a carpeted house because the monster won't slide on the carpeted floor I hope this review stops this company from making profit taking advantage of the elder people who needs help and this company just reach into their pockets in exchange of a heavy and useless non legged chair. ... show more

Although I can't compare it to the plastic bath chair lifts I chose this one because of the steel construction and was not disappointed. The only issue is it requires some assembly to the frame other than just snapping on the bottom feet. And the instruction booklet enclosed doesn't not illustrate this frame build connecting the push rod to the frame. At the site there or two videos one is a sales/use video the other is a video the product magically putting it self together in stop action video stile. I was able to use the pause button and backup controls to glean enough info to construct the unit. ... show more
